Looks like, unless something changes, RIP for 1988 until early 2015.
A quick trivia note: The top five songs this week would be the top five for Aug. 14 … and Aug. 21 and Aug. 28. The final two of those weeks had a logjam of the top seven songs. The top seven songs for April 12, 19 and 26, 2014, repeated, the only other long-lasting logjam; however, I don't think there's ever been a five-song logjam that's lasted longer than the four weeks seen in August 1982.
Predicted extras:
• "Blue Eyes" – Elton John. • "I Keep Forgetting" – Michael McDonald. • "Only Time Will Tell" – Asia. • "Somebody's Baby" – Jackson Browne.
Two longshot extras - and no, I'm throwing a couple of curveballs, and none of them are from Dolly Parton, Michael Martin Murphey or Jerry Reed:
• "Themes from E.T. (The Extra Terrestrial)" – Walter Murphy. This was in its third week of a nine-week Hot 100 run, and got up to No. 47 a couple of weeks later. This was a medley of music from the blockbuster Speilberg movie (hence, why I'm including it … it was one of the biggest movies in history to that time) … that and it was Murphy's last single release – and last we heard of him until "Family Guy" and its ilk came along.
• "Workin' for a Livin'" – Huey Lewis and the News. Debuted in the "Bubbling Under" portion of the chart, and eventually got up to No. 41. Chartwise, not one of his biggest hits, but definitely one of his best-known and popular songs. And yes, he did finally hit with the song – on the country chart – in 2008 when he remade the song with Garth Brooks; the song reached No. 19.

2 weeks in a row for Sunny Radio KZOY... Starting at 5am Sunday NZ time, Too early for me I'll use KCLH 94.7 La Crosse: 1pm here good sound on that station I should have thought to post a notice of the time change on KZOY when it occurred two weeks ago... the station has acquired another syndicated show that they are airing on weekend evenings, so they have moved much of their programming up one hour to accommodate. To that end, they one carry AT40 The 80s from 2 PM to 6 PM local time (Central) / 1 PM to 5 PM Eastern.

Since they formerly started the show at 1PM Central Time, which was 2PM Eastern, they should now be starting at Noon Central, 1PM Eastern.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess: 8/16/86 2nd Guess: 8/15/81
If ever there were such thing as a lock when it came to Premiere's next show, this might be it. Otherwise, they are waiting until September to air the next 1986 show--it would be a bit of a surprise if that happened. 1981 is on the clock as well...

Guessing '86, because the next two weeks for '81 still seem viable: 8/22, a repeat that wouldn't be too soon as it's from 2010, and 8/29, which hasn't yet aired.

I'm thinking 1986 airs next week as well. I hope it is 1986 as well because Madonna had the number 1 song that date (with one of my favorites by her, "Papa Don't Preach")--her 28th birthday and--wouldn't you know--28 years ago.

Especially since Premiere skimped on 1986 last year, airing it only five times, and only twice after June. Assuming 1988 is out of the running for 2014, it's been longest since 1986 was played.

Where can I find a list of the VJ top 40 songs that airs on XM 80's on 8 Friday nights at 9:00 eastern time? How do I contact the DJ's that tape the show? Email or a phone number? You can just go to www.umdmusic.com, click Billboard singles, and enter the date of the show--VJ Big 40 Countdown uses the Billboard Hot 100 from the given week they are playing. As for hearing the shows after the fact, if you have access to Sirius XM online, they keep the shows posted in the "On Demand" section for up to 10 days. Hope that helps....
