I was curious to know if there's ever been a station that dropped either the 70s or the 80s show because they got a new program director that didn't like it.

I was curious to know if there's ever been a station that dropped either the 70s or the 80s show because they got a new program director that didn't like it. I don't know if the pd was the reason, but Magic FM in Huntington, WV dropped the 80s show in 2010. I had emailed the pd a couple of times and told him I was glad they aired it and hoped it would continue. He replied they loved the show themselves and even asked if I would like to hear the 70s show too. Less than 15 months later it was gone.

I don't think OZ-FM or even HITS-FM in Newfoundland was ever interested in picking up the rights to the rebroadcasts of "old school" AT40 for some reason. Maybe there is hardly any demand for such reruns, perhaps?
After all, Newfoundland has an aging population and the majority of the province prefers classic/modern rock and country music over Top 40 radio from past or present.
