Not sure why, but in the last year Premiere has decided to go extremely light on 1979. This means that it's now been over 3 months since the last '79 show was aired (and the 3-year mark is almost never broken for any of the other years), and only one has been played since last September (2/3/79)--a period of 7-1/2 months. Furthermore, they are back to playing quite a few more early 70's shows (from 1970-72). I realize the 4-hour thing is cumbersome for some stations, but for the last four-plus years they had come up with a viable solution by making hours 2-4 available for stations who didn't want to have to change the window for the show each time. What has all of us sudden changed that they can't keep that same rotation that they had going before??

Nobody guessed more than one correct this week. And this week's extras are:
Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight Starbuck - Moonlight Feels Right Keith Carradine - I'm Easy
Starland Vocal Band was the only one guessed until kchkwong guessed Starbuck (good call!).

Oops... Casey said that "Bohemian Rhapsody" was Queen's first American hit. Guess he forgot "Killer Queen" which charted the previous year...

GREAT set of extras--"Afternoon Delight" and "Moonlight Feels Right" are two of the best songs of 1976 IMHO, and the Keith Carradine cut was a pretty good slow song as well.

According to what I read elsewhere, it will end this month. And since a May 1979 show was played already since they started playing 1979 show, your prediction has to have a 50/50 chance of being played. I think it was 5/19 that was played so 5/26 will be the one if not.

"I'm Easy" has been a favorite of mine since 1976, but only the original ABC Records 45 version from the "Nashville" soundtrack. The version on Carradine's LP is redone with strings added--NOT am improvement! From what I remember, AT40 always played the superior original version. You kids out there--"Nashville" was a 1975 film, with nothing to do with the current TV series. Carradine was in it. He has most recently played Penny's dad on "Big Bang"!

If it's 5/26/79, wollenberg will finally get to hear the story about Atlanta Rhythm Section and Stevie Nicks...

The Starland Vocal Band won the Best New Artist category at the 1976 Grammy Awards-A year later, they hosted a short-lived variety show on CBS-One of the regulars was an up & coming comedian from Indiana named David Letterman-Fortunately,Letterman survived this particular fiasco & became a popular talk show host.

This will be a quick posting; I anticipate someone else will link the cue sheets... Two shows next week. Your wish is finally granted for 1979; the "A" show is new, and is from 5/12/1979. The "B" show previously aired in 2012, and is from 5/15/1971. You'll be guessing 5 extras here; in addition to the 4 for 1979, the 3rd extra for 1971 has been replaced (think of this as a "bonus" guess, I suppose). 1971's other two remain the same.

WWOW is again with the 1974 show, despite they announced a promo of the 1976 show 30 minutes ago.
