Dunno if anybody else noticed, but for OE 'That's the way', Larry said it was to be their 3rd #1. It would only be their 2nd, to date.

If not, then there was some serious sloppiness in the research for this week's OE's, between that and the Linda Ronstadt error.

I caught that K.C. reference by Casey and it did had me scratching my head. I thought I missed a hit somewhere. I think it was a script typo or just a mistake by Casey. I don't think the general public associated "Rock Your Baby" with the band enough to consider it a K.C. & The Sunshine Band hit at that time. "Rock Your Baby" was T.K. record #1004. "Queen of Clubs" was #1005 and also featured McCrae. Wouldn't be surprised if they were recorded in the same session. But since the public-at-large didn't know the band existed in 1974, Casey wouldn't lump the two acts together.

I guess this time the 1972 show will be a brand new stereo edit by Ken Martin. The optional extras will likely be introduced by Casey, rather than Larry Morgan.

Predicted extras:
* "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" - Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond. Now, that song was also covered for the country music market - it was a top 10 country hit in January 1979 - by Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius, so one possible intro that Larry Morgan could give is the background for the country cover version and that Jim Ed Brown passed away earlier this year. Possible real curveball: The Brown/Cornelius version is played instead of the Streisand/Diamond version. * "Lights" - Journey. Although it came not even close to the top 40, this early hit from Steve Perry and his crew has since become a staple of classic hits/oldies stations. * "Greased Lightnin'" - John Travolta. Another hit from "Grease." * "Hold the Line" - Toto. Their breakthrough.
A curveball extra ... not on this week's chart at all, but since it's Halloween, the song had made a sizeable comeback five years earlier (in its original 1962 version), to get everyone in the spirit:
* "The Monster Mash" - Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt Kickers.

Premiere included it as an optional extra last year in an October 1978 countdown.

All four extras in that show had a Halloween theme to them...

Listening to October 25th 1975 show , Elton John's Island Girl must be 1 of the biggest movers in AM Top 40, 28 postions. I think Le Freak is the record 31 postions in 1979

WMGN will air 11/04/72 this weekend as they once again reject carrying the last 3 hours of a four-hour show for the fourth straight time (3 were "A" shows).
