Another question is... which songs from that time period that didn't get introduced by Casey on a weekly show, DID get introduced by Casey in some other form? I know he played "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart as an LDD a few times, and "Red Red Wine" by UB40 in its initial chart run in 1984. Remember that Casey was still hosting "America's Top 10" on TV during that gap between radio shows, so songs really would have had to have peaked no higher than #11 to qualify. True--I was thinking radio only, but you're right. America's Top 10 I even remember watching during that stretch (and missing Casey on the radio!). Still though, his song intros on AT10 were very different than those on AT40/CT40 if I remember correctly. He didn't play but a couple of videos on AT10, and they were usually just partial snippets of the song. Other than that he mostly just listed off the other songs in the top 10.

If they are not repeats it will be 1973 and 1983, as they are the only two years ten years apart that have not been played between 2007 thru 2010.

I just pulled up a December 1988 AT10 from You Tube, and Casey introduced clips of each song individually. Early in the show's run, Casey often just presented onscreen lists of the top 10, with a couple of clips; as time passed and videos became universal for pop hits (and many hitmaking acts became just as well if not better known for visuals than music), they ran clips of almost everything, though usually they only played parts of the videos.

To my knowledge, Premiere has yet to repeat a year-end special. Anything else would involve at least a partial repeat of a show (or using a Shadoe show...which needs no further commentary). 1983 would rock! That year is loaded with great songs. 1973...well, it was an early 70's year played last year on SXM. At least with '73, it was originally only a top 40, so Premiere can play the whole thing rather than having to leave out songs 100-41.

Why has Premiere had such an aversion to airing countdowns with substitute hosts, most of whom are well-known by most of us on this board who are fanatics about these priceless shows?
