Someone else should answer this but XM has done 72 and 73 the last 2 years and Premiere has done 77 and 74 the last 2 years. Did you ask about the 80s? Anyway someone else can handle this one in total.

For '70s, Premiere has aired 1978 (in 2007, condensed to fit all 100 songs in two three-hour shows), 1971 (in 2008), 1977 (in 2009, only Top 40), 1976 (in 2009, again only Top 40) and 1974 (in 2010, only Top 40)
For the '80s, it's been 1984 (in 2007, Top 100), 1980 (in 2008, Top 50), 1986 (in 2009, Top 50), 1982 (in 2009, Top 50) and 1985 (in 2010, Top 100)

As for XM, I went back through the old threads and the listing of shows is spotty at best. Cannot determine what they aired in 2006 or 7. They played the top 40 of 1973 in 2008, top 100 of 1972 in 2009 and top 40 of 1973 (again) in 2010. In Jan, they also played the top 50 of the 70s.

2006 XM: Top 100 of 1980 part I & II 2007 XM: Top 100 of 1984 part I & II Premiere: the same 2008: XM: TOp 100 of 1984 part I & II Premiere: TOp 100 of 1980 part II 2009: XM none Premiere: Top 100 of 1986 part II, TOp 100 of 1982 part II 2010: XM none Premiere: Top 100 of 1985 part I & II
XM 70's: 2006: part II year end of 1978, Top 50 of 1979, Top 100 of 1976 part I & II 2007: TOp 50 of 1979, Top 50 of 1978, Top 50 of the 1970s, Top 100 of 1977 part I & II 2008: Top 50 of the 1970s, top 40 of 1973, Top 100 of 1976 part II
Thats all I have, i have no records for premiere 70s and stopped keeping XM records when they dropped the 80s. SOme of the shows weren't aired at the end of the year but somewhere during the year.
For Premiere 80s, all even numbered years til this past xmas, our 1st odd numbered year. I predict the odd numbers to continue this year.

I'm gonna take a guess that it'll be Top 100 of 1983 this year. Loads of MJ in that one!

It was said here that the end year of 2011 was going to be 1987 on The 80´s show...
And something from 1975 could be in the 70´s show...

It was said here that the end year of 2011 was going to be 1987 on The 80´s show... And something from 1975 could be in the 70´s show... So does that mean 1987 is confirmed for the year-end countdown for the 1980s rebroadcasts? I can see why. 1987 got very little exposure this year, and I think closing out 2011 with a rarely-heard year is a surefire way to go out! Once 1987's year-end countdown airs, we only have 1981 and 1983 to go in terms of year-end countdowns. One question: For 1986, why did they trim the year-end countdowns to air just the top 50? When the year-end countdown originally aired in 1986, they did feature the top 100 of that year. I even remember what #100 and #99 were. #100 was "Go Home" by Stevie Wonder, and Casey even acknowledged that the song at #99 that year was by a group who had a hit in 1980 called "99" (that being Toto).

I don't believe this year's year-end countdowns have been confirmed yet, at least not on this board. If it looks like it has, it's probably from someone saying, "This year's end of the year show will be..." when in fact they're really just guessing.

Who would've guessed 1975 back in April when it was played in each of the first 4 months of 2011? But it's only been played once since June... I thought about 1983 and perhaps '81, but '87 fits the bill just a little more than those two years. It wouldn't shock me to see '83 though--one of Premiere's favorite years, and it would be loaded with great songs.

Year end shows played on XM and SXM: 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1985, and 1986. Year end shows NOT played in part or in full on either Premiere or Satellite: 1970 (I originally thought that the 1st half was played, turned out to be 12/19/70 using 12/26/70's weekly chart), 1975, 1981, 1983, 1987. Assuming that Premiere and/or SXM try to cover year end shows not yet broadcast, then they will play 1970 or 1975 (70s show) and 1981, 1983 or 1987 for the Premiere 80s show (SXM stopped broadcasting AT40 80s shows in 2009).

I'm one to still hold out hope that, for the 80s shows, we'll somehow hear the Top 50 Songs of either 1988 or 1989 (hosted by Shadoe Stevens, even if it isn't Casey).
Seeing as that is unlikely to happen, I'll go ahead and pick the last year available for the 1980s package: 1987.
As for the 1970s programs, I'll pick either 1970 or 1975, the last half of either program being selected.
