Hello everyone. I just discovered this board a few weeks ago, and I finally decided to join. So I'll introduce myself by sharing the blog I've been doing for about half a year. bobbyglovescasey.blogspot.comBasically I go through the chart my local station (CKOC, Hamilton, Ontario) plays every week, adding my thoughts and reminiscences and some facts about the songs and artists (and yes, there are sometimes mistakes in them, e.g. I learned from here that Byron MacGregor did not read "The Americans" on air). Anyway, just thought people here might be interested, and if anyone has any thoughts to offer, I'm happy to hear them.

jmorgan - yes, huge fan, especially of the first ten years or so. The only other message board I've ever joined was a Simpsons one. Anyway, the first entry for the 2/15/75 countdown is up now: bobbyglovescasey.blogspot.com/2011/02/february-15-1975-part-one.html I usually do two entries on each chart. The exceptions are the shortened four-hour shows, and charts where there is very little turnover from the last chart played from that year.

Nice stuff Bobby G. A couple comments....Well said about "Sexy Mama", a song written by Sylvia. Can you say Pillow Talk, the sequel. Also Brownsville Station did not have 1 top 40 hit , they had 2. And I'll be honest, I only know that because a station played the 10/19/74 AT40 as part of their New Year's Day marathon and they had a song at #31 in it.

bobbyg, love your blog as usual. However, you made a mistake on this week's post. You flipped the Classics roman numeral. It's actually Classics IV, not VI. Just wanted to point that out.

Corrected, thanks.
Also, sorry about how this week's Part One looked at first. Couldn't figure out why it was turning out like that, but finally was able to make it look normal by switching to HTML mode.

Hi Bobby,
I enjoyed your blog! Great info. If I had more time, I'd start my own. Anyway, I'm a big fan of "The Simpsons" as well. Casey has mentioned the show many times throughout the years.
The first time I recall was on "Casey's Top 40" when "Do The Bartman" hit the countdown. Casey (mis)quoted Bart as saying, "I'm Bart Simpson. Who the heck are you?"
Years later on AT10 (or AT20-AC), Casey was doing an introduction for "The Tears of A Clown" by The Mircales. Going into it, he did a list of famous clowns, including "Krusty" (you had to wonder if he really knew who that was, or something the writer just put in there). [On a side note, I was waiting for him to mention Pogo, but that name didn't come up.]
Casey also mentioned (at different times) that the country band Pinmonkey took their name from an episode of "The Simpsons," as did "Fall Out Boy."
Once he did a story or intro on "Maybe I'm Amazed" and told how Paul McCartney appeared in the episode "Lisa The Vegetarian." (The song played over the credits in that episode).
And my absolute FAVORITE "Simpsons" reference was when Casey said something to the effect of, "I was parodied in a 1991 episode doing my TV show, 'America's Top 10.' I was introducing the #1 song, 'I Do Believe We're Naked' by Funky See, Funky Do." [That scene was taken from "Radio Bart" in which "Sending Our Love Down The Well" was dedicated to Timmy O'Toole (Bart Simpson). But the song plunged down the chart once it was revealed that Bart had pulled a hoax.] I can't remember how that was tied into any certain song, however.

Casey (mis)quoted Bart as saying, "I'm Bart Simpson. Who the heck are you?" Supposedly Casey wanted to clean up that quote in case kids were listening.
