They played 100 to 51 and didn't finish the following week? That's terrible scheduling. No... they don't always play 8 hour for rick dees year-end, only for four hours of part I they will play #100-#51, part II will play #50-#1, but like bear said, it may be predicted that next weekend won't be able to play part II 2008.

This weeks 80s show is from 12/17/88. On the app it says 12/24/87 which is incorrect so wanted just to let everyone know. And side note from last week... The bonus hours for the D2K series was from 11/10/01. So basically you had over 6 hours of 2001 as that was also the featured year.

The bonus hours for this weeks 80s show is: May 20,1989. It seems they use this show a lot for bonus hours.

Leading into the #1 song in the 1988 show, Chicago's "Look Away", Rick played parts of two of their previous #1 hits, but he overlooked "Hard Habit To Break" and "You're the Inspiration", both of which hit #1 in Radio & Records. (If he had been using Billboard's Hot 100 he'd have been right.) And he got the year of "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" wrong; he said 1986 when it was actually 1982. I noticed that too. And I believe he said 4 #1s for Chicago in the outro.

Maybe they were confused by the fact that like last week's 1987 show, it has Dees' awful "I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus" parody. Too long, and not funny. The "Holiday Fairy" bit also wasn't funny, and quite possibly would not fly today. Show overall is worth a listen, especially since it's from the Casey-less period. Might want to use a couple of the 6 allotted skips, though.

Due to Christmas Eve today, KKMK FM is not airing Rick Dees part II 2008, it's going all christmas station
I'm surprised nobody's even talking about part II 2008, at least's on the app now. So I guess our initial prediction was skipping 2008 to 2009 year-end part II, and it turned out it isn't.

They played 100 to 51 and didn't finish the following week? That's terrible scheduling. Yeah, frustrating too. That happened in 2002 with my local station. They aired the AT40 year-end part 1 (100-51), but aired a fan request program in AT40's slot the following weekend, so nobody heard the top 50. It wasn't until this time last year when I acquired the show, that I finally heard the top 50, 14 years later. (Of course, normalcy returned the first weekend of 2003, when the regular show aired.) Why air a show at all if you're not going to play the entire program? (Though I remember reading a post some months ago regarding the 1976 year-end and station contracts - since part 2 fell in the 1977 calendar year, those that didn't renew or something along those lines didn't air part 2.) If part of a program airs, I'd rather hear the final part. It's just odd to hear the first part and nothing else. It's like a movie that leaves all the viewers hanging. I don't know if you're aware, but this d2K app now has 2008 part II. Just for that most people should not jump in conclusions saying that year-end is skipped for diff year. Just saying. Should we make prediction for next week? Dec 26, 2009 Top 40 Hits of Decade HAC&CHR.

12/26/2009 is a good guess, but we might also get early 2009 such as 01/03/2009. Or we might get 01/06/2001.

Hard not to jump to conclusions w/ Dee's when things rarely go as one would expect.
Back to "OnwiththeCountdown" You sure it was the top100 of 2002? Caseys Top 100 of 2003 had issues, a lot of the stations in the east never received part II thus why many stations never aired part II of THAT show. Our station included.
in a strange twist, i never got to hear part I of the 2002 AT40 year ender. I was recording the show off Q-94 RIchmond back then and in 2001, Q94 decided to air the full 100 from 8am - 4pm on new years weekend, so my bad thinking they'd do that again in 2002 and I ended only getting part II. I had to drive down to my folks beach house just to pick up the station........oh well.
So i presume this coming weekend, Rick will be doing his top 40 of 2017?

I still have my cassette recordings from then (though I plan to ditch them sometime next year when I clean house). I started recording digitally in 2003, which my local station in the Midwest aired both parts from that year-end. But I have clean copies from the original discs (which I never had) so my original recordings, cassette or not, are going bye-bye.

Yes, Top 40 of 2017, same show for both formats
And about D2K there are 2 versions, finally found it, CHR and HAC and today´s D2K is Hot AC, so it is January 03, 2009 Hot AC and a big difference is in segment Hour 2 Seg 1, with different songs after STICKWITU – pu-ssy-CAT DOLLS.
This show is not a countdown, but a programme of number ones songs from the last 4 years and there are 2 shows, CHR and HAC .
Compared to CHR, Hour 4 in this weekend D2K ( Hot AC) is so different, all the Rihanna songs has been changed for other songs in the D2K show.
