1989 will start between 11:30 and Noon EST. As we all know, 1989 will be the longest year to complete. I notice when the weekly 40 songs are counted down, it almost always goes past three hours. I am thinking it will be 7 1/2 hours, so that should start 1980 between 7 and 7:30 EST this evening, which is just short of the 72 hours since 1980 started Friday night at 9 p.m. Is Arthur's Theme the only song that was featured in two countdowns--1981 and 1982?

The only other song I know off the top of my head is "Gloria", which was on the 1982 and 1983 countdowns.

The whole show is up On Demand now, with everything labeled correctly and all.
1989 is wrapping up as of 6 PM central, definitely making it the longest show in the bunch.

I highly doubt anyone would be able to listen to the entire "Big 1000" countdown from start to finish. It's impossible, especially for somebody in my situation; My household got our Dish Network service back in mid-September after it was cut off for several weeks, but it only works on one of our three TVs, and there are others in my household that want to watch something on that TV as well. I can only listen to bits and pieces of this "Big 1000" countdown at best.

The whole show is up On Demand now, with everything labeled correctly and all. All on-demand shows of the Big 1000 disappeared. I hope that they will be restored as soon as possible. Edit: Sorry, I found them by making keyword search "Big 1000". AS they used to appear on my Favorite shows page together with all Big 40 Countdown shows, I only looked at there.

Just some observations: It took 70 hours to complete all ten years of the 80's Top 100 Countdown of each year! That averages to 7 hours per show. If the 70 hours to complete the current run of the show, 1980 should start Thursday at 5 pm EST. I agree with being difficult to listen to all the years, especially the ones that occur from Midnight until early morning, or for a working man like myself! That makes the On Demand feature so enjoyable. Happy New Year to all!

Personally for me, I have listened to the 1989 parts of this countdown the most. This is the only time you will ever hear the Top 100 of 1989, as Premiere won’t play it, Rick Dees doesn’t have that Year End in his collection and slim to no chance of ever gettting rebroadcasts of Casey’s Top 40 on the radio again so this is an opportunity that can’t be missed.

I found the seven hour 1988 VJ countdown to be most enjoyable, for many of the reasons you list above, as well as the quality of the music. I mean, the four INXS tunes alone are worth giving it a listen!

Anyone up for a guess besides me? I believe 1982 was played furthest back in rotation in 2019, but when you think about it--we have heard every year in the last 9 days so any year picked will be songs we heard during the period of 12-27-19 to present. Also I am curious what programming will be at 11 am EST Monday and 6 pm Tuesday evening when the weekly countdown is played.

I just tuned in at 11 am and no countdown is being played. Normally, 11 am on Mondays is a repeat of the Friday night broadcast. I am almost thinking it will be same tomorrow evening at 6 pm.

Any word on next week's show? Nope. And I'm still fearing they'll go with January 7 of 1989 yet again. I don't wish to start a fight or get in trouble here, but I wish this would be a perfect opportunity to do a January 1988 Big 40 show instead, even though Michael1973 said there likely wont be one. If not, they can at least do February 6 of '88 (Feb 13 of '88 has already been covered in 2017, IIRC).
