Those of us who heard both the 70s and this Christmas show this weekend got to here that story about Elvis giving a hippy a $50 bill in both. Of course the shows were recorded 30 years apart.....lol Good stories never grow old for Casey.

Forgive me for coming here trying to start a conversation. After watching Tebow AGAIN I need something to calm me down and keep me from throwing my iPad through the TV. Did the 70s show air some sort of Christmas song with this story also?

You're a Floridian IIRC but it would seem that you are not a Tebow fan. Maybe a Florida State fan since he was a Gator? Anyway, in the 70s show, Elvis had a song in the countdown so they did not play a Christmas song in conjunction with that Elvis story.

Wrong. I hate college football entirely with the exception of occasionally watching UCF. However, being from Jacksonville originally I have had to endure verbal bj's be given to this guy since he became a Gator. Don't let anyone tell you differently, Jacksonville is a Gator city not a Jaguar one. In fact the Bronco games that air there get higher ratings than Jags game do. I know the Jags suck but there's no way to spin your own cities team being outdrawn by another NFL team on tv. Tebow and I also were members of the same church in Jacksonville so I had to listen to it there also and how I should cheer him because "he's a Christian and from here." They treated him like he's nearly God incarnate there. Now with Facebook I have people from Jax, First Baptist Jax, Redneck Gator hicks from there, etc friended on there and I have to endure it on there constantly. He's a nice guy. I believe he's a very devout guy. But between the media fawning and them it is more than I can handle especially since I think he sucks as a qb and has his defense (in the physical sense) to thank week after week.
Not to mention I'm sick of so-called Jaguars fans saying had we drafted Tebow we'd be winning. It shows how stupid they are. Just because he's here doesn't mean we are winning, especially when you look at who's around him if he's here.

I agree about Tebow though. Wayne Weaver only toyed with the idea because the Jags weren't selling out the home games. Thank goodness GM Gene Smith had other ideas.

That loss was more on the Bucs becoming a turnover machine than anything else. Did you see the game yesterday? I ask this because it managed to get on local tv for Jacksonville residents. That place was far, far, far from sold out. That looked as pitiful as Buc home games do. This is why people who think Weaver was a terrible owner may be pining for him soon. He is the most patient and long suffering owner. He will buy up the remaining tickets at a discounted price many times to get the game on TV. I don't know that the new owner is going to do that for all the Jacksonville rednecks. They may have to actually *gasp* buy tickets to see them. The Glazers don't buy one ticket to get a blackout lifted.

Yes and the fact that the Jags lift blackouts (and the Dolphins for that matter) while the Bucs don't depresses me (though next Saturday's game against Dallas is confirmed for local TV but just as well I'll be in Orlando for the weekend and the hotel doesn't get NFL Network). I watched up until it was 35-14 then I watched the Red Zone channel.

I'm interested to see what next week is. Paul, so am I. With Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, it makes for a perfect Christmas weekend. But I have no idea what holiday program will be offered. Either one of the specials from 1971 or 1973 would make a great broadcast.

I said weeks ago if they aired the same shows they do every year they'd be 1 short of Christmas weekend. And that I thought they would air one of those. However the interesting question is what about affiliates who were dropping the 80s shows for 24/7 Christmas music. Would they air a 70s show? Will they get the one Christmas show that never gets aired? Rerun one of the ones already heard? Replay the original Top 30 Christmas songs? Or air nothing? I think that covered all the possibilities.

I had to check the cue sheet for the top two because WRVF did not play the last segment, since the show ran past the top of the hour. The question is, why - especially since the time slot of the show is from 5:00 to 9:00 and the Christmas shows are only three hours.

It took them over 4 hours to run a 3 hour show?
