I've been listening to American Top 10 on 103.9 WFAS FM in NY, but this is the second week the show has not come on. Does anybody know if they dropped Casey's show? What station can I hear Casey on?

WLIT in Chicago hasn't aired the show for two weeks, neither. What market is WFAS in? Maybe stations in a certain area didn't receive the shows in time.

Well, it appears that WLIT has indeed dropped the show and I received an e-mail from someone that WFAS has also gotten rid of the show. I can't say that I'm surprised about this, because the show has gone downhill ever since they changed to AT10. I noticed that some of the AT10 Archive songs have been repeated two or three times and the Spotlight segment was getting rather weak, since they've run out of ideas. Hopefully, WLIT will in the future pick up on another AC countdown show (the only one I can think of would be Dick Clark's US Music Survey. I doubt WLIT would air any of the Hot AC shows, even though I have heard a few Hot AC songs on their station (such as "Get The Party Started" by Pink, which I heard this past weekend). Of course, since six of their nights are filled with Delilah, maybe they'll just run regular programming on Saturdays.

I just recevied an E-mail from Casey Kasem saying you can listen to my show on WALK 97.5 Long Island.

Casey was also dropped by WEBE in Westport, CT. This was confirmed by an email from the station.

I have been in e-mail contact with WFAS (White Plains & Mt. Kisco, NY), WEBE (Westport, CT) (both carried AT10) and WDBY (Danbury CT) (who carried AT20).
WDBY said they had dropped AT20 in September in a move to eliminate all syndicated programmin.
Neither WEBE or WFAS gave any reason for the elimination of the show. WFAS did say they had intended to run up to the Top 30 of 2004 on New Year's weekend - but there were "shipping issues".
(Premier's web site confirms that - they must press and distribute the CDs out of the area of the Ohio/Tenn valley that had the pre-C'mas snows.)
Besides the Long Island station, AT10 is still on Clear Channel's Lite 92 - at 92.1FM in Poughkeepsie NY on Sun from 8-11am.
I used a radio station guide search to find all AC and Hot AC stations in the New York northern suburbs and checked every station web site. There is no mention of AT10 or AT20 anywhere else in the region. Of course, that it isn't mentioned on the web site isn't a lock that they don't run the program. Of the 4 others I e-mailed to ask - none have replied, now a week later.
Casey out of the New York market can't be a good sign.

So what other stations dropped AT10?

How can we get 106.7 Lite FM in NY to air American Top 10 with Casey Kasem. That would be GREAT! Anybody with me?

My guess is that Lite FM views themselves as too "music intensive" to run Casey's show, which also features comparatively a lot of talk between the songs (that is, compared to the rest of Lite FM's programming). But, never say never... The other campaign I'd suggest people start is for WPLJ, New York's Hot AC, to run AT20. Even a clearance at 6 AM would be better than nothing! You can probably find a link to email WPLJ through their website at www.plj.com.

I'm with you on airing AT10 on Lite FM especally since Lite-FM is a Clear Channal station. Yeah, so is WLIT. I thought it was a requirement for these stations to run the show, since AT10 is distributed by Premiere Radio Networks/Clear Channel. I guess I disagreeumption was way wrong.

With all of this talk of a new round of station cancellations, do you think Premiere is going to rethink the point to having this show and eventually cancel it? I would have thought the AT10 format would have been a better fit for AC stations but they have not responded positively to it at all. If anything, it's worse with several sttaions axing the show this year, including the one I used to record it off of every Sunday morning on the net, Miami's station.
Another idea is maybe Premiere should survey their AC stations and find out what it would take for them to run the show as far as the format of the show.

Maybe Premiere is getting this response from their affiliates: "..switching to a new format, no Maroon 5, no Hoobastank."

I thought about that, but then it dawned on me, there is a problem with that philosphy being that in order for songs to MAKE the AC Top 10, it must be played on AC stations such as the ones who are dropping the show.
