In late 1982, Laura Branigan had a song that was on the charts called "Gloria" and it went to peak at No.2 on the Hot 100. Well, at the same time that Laura Branigan's "Gloria" was on the charts, a TV show called "Gloria" aired on CBS. Gloria starred Sally Struthers, who was best known for playing Gloria Stivic on All In The Family, and Gloria was a spinoff of All In The Family, although AITF was by 1982 called "Archie Bunker's Place". I always had this thought that Laura Branigan was singing about Sally Struthers' character Gloria Stivic, but that wasn't the case. In fact, Laura Branigan's hit "Gloria" was not the theme song to the TV show "Gloria". Another strange irony.
