Just wanted to re-visit this issue and see if anyone has found a reason for this or a way around this.
When you set the timer for a two-hour recording (for example, although time is irrelevant for this issue).... and the recording ends... it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 4 hours to convert/save the recording. And there doesnt seem to be any uniformity regarding the input device or anything as far as if its going to work quickly or slowly.
Here is the thing though.... sometime, if you hit stop at any time before the recording ends, it will go quickly. But if you let it go even one more minute until the scheduled end, it saves slowly.
No matter what you do with this, everything seems different, again, with no uniformity.
Has anyone found a way around this to make everything save quickly? Does anyone know why this happened/happens?
Thanks, Shawn

I have observed that manually recording seems to take longer to complete the saving process. Timed recordings for me ends almost instantly. What I have noticed is that if there is not sufficient HD space, the finishing can take forever. However, I record at a relatively low bitrate, so my HD requirements are relatively little.
