What theme song from AT40's history (can include Casey's Top 40, AT20, AT10, etc.) do you like the best?
My favorite AT40 theme has to definately be AT40 with Shadoe Stevens circa 1993/1994 or so (I know it came into existence somewhere in that range). I really like that whole piano thing going on in the backround.

I like AT20's current opening/closing theme (which I guess would also be the theme to AT10).
Wait, I forgot about the top of the hour sweep currently on AT10 and AT20. I vote for that one!

Mine is a tie between Shadoes 89-92 theme, and AT40 in the Mid 80's

For me, nothing beats the long-running "Shuckatoom". I also have a special fondness for the fast-paced AT40 theme used from April 1987 through the beginning of the Shadoe era.

My favorite AT40 theme song was the remix of the original theme song which the show used from 1973-1978.

My favorite is Shadoe's 1989-1992 theme, followed by the other 2 from the mid 80s.
I also like the current top of the hour sweep for AT20/10.

I really like the AT10 Top of the Hour sweep. I want to know why they discontinued use of the AT10 theme and just use the Hot AC theme.

My favorite number singing package (I hope everyone knows what I am talking about, I dont really know what to call it) set was the one they didnt seem to use very often. It was used mostly in conjunction with the mid 80's ones, but it was the new set that always seemed more melodious to me. The ones that didnt sound part robotic. Hope THAT all makes sense too.

I was digging through some of my old CDs and I found what would be the perfect AT40 theme song -- it's "Stars and Stripes" very American and patriotic, yet with a pop flair. Interestingly enough it is actually from a ride at Disneyland called "America Sings" which traced American folk songs (IE hits from way back when!). Too bad I never got to see the show (I was WAY to young and it was built to celebrate America's bicentennial) because I wasn't born yet. But the show's music is really neat. I'm glad I saw this there when I was there 5 years ago or so. EDIT: I just found a site that describes this ride... fascinating site really. I found myself browsing farther in: www.yesterland.com/amersings.html

Call me the minority but my favorite all time Casey jingles were those used at the very end of Casey Kasem's AT40 reign, late 90's-2003.

Definatly the "Shuckatoom" era for me! But I loved the period from 1974-1977 as those were my Germany years where I lived as a Military dependant. That era is very special to me. Steve Orchard

I really like the AT10 Top of the Hour sweep. I want to know why they discontinued use of the AT10 theme and just use the Hot AC theme. It would appear that that was a one-shot deal, as it's been back on the past few shows I've listened to (though I've only listened through the 4/2 show so far).

Scott, Are you talking about the Open/Close theme on AT10 or the top of the hour sweep? They have (to my knowledge) been using the AT10 Top of the Hour Sweep at least since I got the show in January '05 (but now that it is summer I can no longer pick up the station like I could during the winter so I haven't heard AT10 in a while....weird DXing). As for the AT10 Open/Close theme...I never heard an AT10 open theme and only h eard the AT10 close theme one time, way back in April of 2004. I hope this makes sense... Realizing now after rereading that it doesn't...my question is: are they back to the AT20/Saxaphone Top Of The Hour sweep on AT10, or are they back to using the AT10 themes for open/close, or neither? I need sleep...
