It is extremely surprising to note that Ryan Seacrest now has the longest consecutive run as AT40 host, totaling 20 years and change now. Hard to believe he’s been host that long. Casey had 18 consecutive years. Ryan is even only 3 years away from tying Casey and only 4 years from being host for the most years altogether. Casey totaled 23 years - first run (1970 to 1988) and second run (1998 to 2003). Ryan looks bound for the record because I don’t think he’s going anywhere as host.

Likewise, some long-lived hit-making bands have seen their current replacement singers serve a longer stint than the originals (Styx, Journey).

Rick Dees has had a long stretch too. Last month was his 41 year anniversary of doing the Weekly Top 40.
