This is an Under the Covers classic chosen by me ties to this weekend's 11/27/1982 AT40: The 80's show: At #2 is Laura Brannigan with "Gloria", an English remake of a 1977 Italian song originally done by Umberto Tozzi. This is what the original Italian version is like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NK3f9-Y8m4And, as a bonus, Umberto also did a Spanish language version of "Gloria", which is like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hsf0vvGZDE

The November 29, 1986 chart featured Robert Palmer at #23 with "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On". In 2016, Cherrelle's original recording of the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis song was posted in the Lost 80s Classic thread (by 1finemrg I might add). It reached #79 on the Hot 100 and #8 on the R&B chart in 1984.

An UNDER THE COVERS choice by me for this weekend's AT40: The 70's 11/22/1975 show: Barry Manilow comes in at #38 with "I Write The Songs", but this is what the Captain and Tennille's version from their debut album in 1975 sounded like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXUMxCD3l3k

David Cassidy was the first to release it as a single. Bruce recorded his version in 1977.
