The 1982 shows are the most enjoyable to listen to. It seems there is less editing going on since the very early days of 70/71.
Is it because the #1 recaps of the 70s/60s ended in late 1981 and not having to play those extra 2-3 songs every week meant the AT40 staff could give the razor blades a little rest?

Just prior to her breakthrough hit, Jennifer Holliday was hired as an AT40 staffer. But was quickly let go when she said, "And I'm telling you I'm not editing." Yes, this is pure fiction.

I'll bet people in England thought her actual song title was a reference to confusion caused by her last name. Blimey,where's Jennifer this week? Does the woman never work? She's at her desk.
