Did you know it was 25 years since the March 28, 1998 relaunch of American Top 40 after a 3 year absence? With original AT40 host Casey Kasem returning along with 2 spinoffs - American Top 20 AC and American Top 20 Hot AC. This was distributed by AM/FM Networks (now Premiere Radio Networks). Most AT40/AT20 stations replaced the withdrawn by Westwood One Casey's Top 40/Casey's Hot 20/Casey's Countdown shows.
Originally, Casey wanted Westwood One to revive the AT40 name, but WW1 refused and Casey signed with AM/FM to revive AT40. For the final CT40 weeks David Perry and Jeff Wyatt guest hosted but the last 2 WW1 weeks were called "The Top 40 Countdown" and the Request and Dedication segments from the final weeks omitted Casey's name.
Too bad Premiere won't celebrate the 25th. anniversary of the AT40 relaunch with the first Casey return AT40 show from March 25, 1998 as a bonus show this April Fool's 2023 weekend.

That is 6 months longer than AT40 1.0 lasted. Which means the combined duration of AT40 will reach 50 years in 6 months. It would be the week of 9/30/23 to be exact which is coincidentally the exact same date in 1989 that AT40 broadcast their 1000th show...9/30/89.
