Drummer Ron Tutt passed away October 16 at the age of 83 of natural causes. He had been suffering from an ongoing heart condition. Ron's skills were heard across a wide spectrum of the music landscape. When Elvis staged his comeback in the late sixties, Ron was the drummer for his TCB band and remained a member until his death. He went on to drum for Neil Diamond for nearly 40 years. He drummed for Billy Joel on the "Piano Man" and "Streetlife Serenade" albums. He also toured with the Jerry Garcia Band, and appeared on some of his solo efforts. Ron can be heard on recordings by Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, Emmy Lou Harris and the Carpenters. He appeared with Roy Orbison on his famous "Black and White Night" special in the late 80s. Obituary
