I don’t know how many of you have the Rick Dees lists, but I was wondering if anyone might know what songs Rick Dees skipped on the Top 96 of 1996 year end show. I saw the line up on Shadster’s website, but it does not show which songs were skipped.

Given how many of those songs I like, it's a good thing that I didn't get to listen to the Dees year-ender that year (well, actually, I did, but the station I listened to played the AC version of the show).

^You mean the Hot AC version? I don’t think his AC show started until 2009.

Does anyone happen to know what songs he skipped on the Top 90 of 1990?

Does anyone happen to know what songs he skipped on the Top 90 of 1990? I'm pretty sure that "All Or Nothing" by Milli Vanilli was one of them.

I'm pretty sure that "All Or Nothing" by Milli Vanilli was one of them. And likely due to their notorious Grammy Awards scandal. And that is the most asinine reason possible. The song is the song, regardless of what voices are actually on the record. Oh well, it's Dees, so no surprise.

Since when has Casey pulled a Dees and skipped songs? And, by the way, yes it was played...and Casey's intro to the song is perfect.

Been hearing 'Milli Vanilli' (or should I say Shaw, Davis, and Howe ) songs all year on Thursday mornings on Fox Oldies' 1989 top 50 multi-chart countdowns, and I've got to say--there were a LOT worse songs that were hits in 1989 than those!

Oh well, it's Dees, so no surprise. Agreed. Some people can't separate the song itself from everything else. The song itself was worthy of being played, regardless - as noted, Shadoe and Casey played them. (I also happen to really like the song, and everything else by "Milli Vanilli".) I never liked how Dees skipped songs; I have his year-ends from 1992 and 1994, in which several songs were skipped. (I also have 1985 and 1987, but he thankfully wasn't into that practice then.) I remember an ACC show from January 1998 where Bob Kingsley skipped #40 and #39 because they were Christmas songs. Outside of that situation, Bob didn't skip songs, not that I recall, anyway. (Later came across that show in my collection; it was 1/10.)

Actually, from what I heard, Dees introed the song and began playing it, but after a few seconds, there was an explosion sound effect (pretty much representing what happened to their music career) and then they went on to the next song.
