The Horse by Cliff Nobles & Co. was the song that a DJ at a station I worked at in South Georgia used as his intro music for an oldies show that ran weekly. For many years I couldn't hear that song without thinking of Vernon (the host of that show). South Georgia!? Was the station called 'Radio Shackleton? Joke--I know you probably mean someplace like Albany or Valdosta. Didn't stop Cliff from getting royalties from the record, as noted in the wiki article I linked earlier.

Actually it was a small town called McRae (the town was best known being about 45 minutes south of Dublin, Ga, located on the most boring interstate in the U.S. I-16). We were an Atlanta Braves affiliate and the station celebrated it 25th anniversary when I was there (although the station had been off the air in between owners for about an 18 month period).
