Misty Morgan passed away New Year's Day from cancer at the age of 75. She had been diagnosed the previous week. With her husband Jack Blanchard, the duo would top the country charts and reach #23 on the Hot 100 with the novelty hit "Tennessee Bird Walk" in 1970. Their follow-up "Humphrey The Camel" would peak at #5 on the country charts and #78 on the Hot 100. They would continue to enjoy moderate success on the country charts during the 70s before fading from the music scene. They would reappear in 1995 with "Back In Harmony" and occasionally release music on their own independent label, Velvet Saw Records. Obituary

Obituary"Tennessee Bird Walk" dropped out of Billboard's Top 40 on May 23, 1970, missing an AT40 countdown by 7-8 weeks. In fact, I don't believe it was ever played on AT40. However, Watermark added the Jack Blanchard/Misty Morgan novelty to their song library at some point because it ranked among the "Top 40 Hits of the 70s", an American Country Countdown special on July 6, 1974.
