That was rerun a year ago which did have some country crossover, but it wasn't until later in the year where the Urban Cowboy movie caused a surge in the country/pop crossover.
I think the perfect show for KFYZ next week would be to run the Ladies of the Eighties ACC special in honor of International Women's Day that day, which originally aired around Memorial Day 1988 or the weekend of, assuming if they'll run special programming and music dedicating to women in music that fits their format.

So, looks like a regular show is on tap for March 8th... while not containing all women at least it will feature 14 songs that contain female artists (solo, duo/duet, groups, mixed groups), including extras. While KFYZ is in rerun mode for now, WSM-AM continues to provide new CT40 episodes with this one from 3/6/2010. Seems like they cut off the opening billboard for this week... I guess it's due to irrelevant information for this year but only applies to every ten years. This week, KFYZ takes us on a journey back to 3/17/1984. Kicking off the show is "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" by Willie Nelson & Julio Iglesias. Just two weeks later, it would debut on AT40. It would eventually peak at #1 on ACC, and #5 on AT40. Some on here may not care for it, but I love that song. Quoting myself from last year, as this show is being re-run tonight. |

That's the third week in a row that KFYZ has aired a show that's already aired previously. I'm starting to wonder if they may have only a limited amount in their library they can run like the Big 40 VJ Countdown show the 80s channel on SXM airs? At least KFYZ doesn't offer new commentary on the shows.
Or it's also possible that a number of ACC shows still need to be converted and if any be remastered on vinyl (though from mid-1990 on it doesn't need to be since it switches to CD quality). Nevertheless I really hope next week's ACC show on KFYZ is a new one and not the one from 3/20/1982 again.
