With Naomi Judd recently passing away, KFYZ has decided to go out of their way and do an ACC special tonight focusing on The Judds - Chapters 1 & 2, which aired during the Memorial Day weekend of 1992.

Now back to the CT40 show on WSM-AM and this week it's a regular show from 5/26/2007. I don't think CT40 started doing specials until later on and even if they did do them now, it wasn't noted in the records.
ACC did have a regular show along with a special that was offered on holiday weekends, usually Memorial and Labor Day weekend starting in the late 80s but also at other times on occasion. Seems like they slowed it down once the 2000s began.

Guest host week on CT40 this week as they now enter into June - 6/2/2007 to be exact. The guest host this time is Smokey Rivers, who currently does middays on KPLX-FM (which recently shifted into more of a classic country direction similar to Cumulus's Nash Icon stations).

Smokey Rivers also guest-hosted the 8/10/2019 CT40 show. He'd be the second to last guest-host before Bob's passing two months later, in terms of Bob returning after said stint. Lisa Taylor would be the last, on 9/14/2019. Bob's last show was 9/28/2019, and then the string of guest hosts began with 10/5, before Fitz would be named permanent host heading into 2020.

Have to wonder if Fitz has ever taken time off as of yet for CT40? If he has or hasn't as of yet and when he does, who handles the guest host duties when Fitz is away and is there more than one guest host available should that be the case like Kingsley did when he usually allowed someone at a major market radio station to fill in for him?
KFYZ is going back to 5/18/1985 tonight in the meantime.

I wasn't able to listen to Fitz until I finally found him Halloween weekend 2020. Then I missed the next 3 shows, and picked up Thanksgiving weekend. Been listening just about every weekend since. He hasn't taken any time off, and I wonder if maybe he's either recording at home or very close to home, or maybe remotely? Whatever the method, I can tell he really enjoys it. He sure had a great man to follow.
