Wayne Fontana passed away Thursday, August 6 at the age of 74. He had been suffering from cancer. He reached the top of the US charts as the front man for the Mindbenders with "Game Of Love". He left the band a few months later in pursuit of a solo career. He would have some success on the UK charts with "Pamela Pamela" and "Come On Home" both reaching the Top 20, but he failed to dent the US charts. He left the music business in the mid-70s, struggling with alcohol and mental health issues. In his later years, he would perform on the oldies circuit. Obituary
