Joe Porcaro, the patriarch of the trio of sons that co-founded Toto, passed away in his sleep July 6 at the age of 90. An accomplished jazz drummer in his own right, Joe had a long and successful stint as a session musician working as part of orchestras contracted for TV shows. His album credits ran from Frank Sinatra to Pink Floyd. He also contributed to some of his sons' work, playing bass marimba on their #1 hit "Africa". Obituary
