Here's something curious for Shadoe Stevens AT40 1988-1995 fans: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlJa3yiSDccIn the first 3 commercials of this block of circa 1976-1977 TV commercials for a Washington DC Newsradio station WTOP 1500 AM, does the male voice over ("CHANGE! You can hear it coming...") sound like 1988-1995 AT40 host Shadoe Stevens? If so, it was odd to hear Shadoe's voice in 1970's radio commercials long before his 1980's Fred Rated Federated Group TV commercials. Shadoe never even did radio station work for any Washington, D.C. radio station as a D.J., I guess.

During the mid-'70s he was in L.A., first at KHJ and later KRLA and them KMET. Correct that he was never on-air in DC. After his early radio gigs in Fargo and then in my local market, Tucson, as 'Jefferson K' on KIKX, 1967-69, he went to WRKO Boston and from there to L.A.in the early '70s.

Also, 2 years later following the WTOP TV commercial voice work, in 1978, Shadoe Stevens did the narration for a Jack and the Beanstalk space age take called "Jack and the Flying Saucer" that was on the Florida based record label Kid Stuff Records album "Star Wars by the Kid Stuff Repitory Company". Too bad you can't find hear that Jack in Space story by Shadoe from Kid Stuff Records on YouTube, but the Kid Stuff Star Wars Record Album surfaces a lot on ebay. Here's details on the Kid Stuff Star Wars/Jack and the Flying Saucer record album which mentions Shadoe Stevens as the narrator: www.marysandkensbackroom.com/listing/486995275/star-wars-by-the-kid-stuff-repertory
