*Disclaimer* This thread is NOT meant to make anyone feel old I was just wondering what song was at number one on the day you were born, and if you particularly like (or dislike) that song. Number one on my birthday was one-hit wonder Falco with his pop hit "Rock Me Amadeus." Before I realized it was # 1 on my birthday, I didn't particularly care for the song, but now it is one of my Top 20 80's favorites.....

Theme from A Summer's Place-Percy Faith

"Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro. Sigh. I wish it'd been a song by the Beatles. By the way, "Rock Me Amadeus" was a hit the year I graduated, 1986. So, yes, I do feel old now.

I'm a lucky man. My friend andrew Carner gave me the two show from around my birthday. You se I was born on Sunday April 7 1974 so For the show that aired that week asuming it aired that Sunday morning that one was a special top 40 british songs and the number one was hey Jude by the beatles or on the unaired chart it was Hooked on A Feeling by Blue Swede. For the Oficeal week of my birthday since sunday counts toward the next week it was ironicly "Bennie & The Jets by my favorite Singer Elton John. Very Ironic Huh

My sister gets to have "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" by the Fifth Dimension. My nephew gets to have "Don't Speak" by No Doubt. And I get Bobby friggin' Goldsboro.

Is this R&R's CHR/Pop or the Hot 100?
I guess it doesn't matter for me, being as "Jump" by Van Halen was #1 on both charts the day I was born.

I never heard the song that was #1 on the day I was born but my mom has and hates it. Theme from A Summer's Place-Percy Faith Yeah, that song is pretty lousy. It sounds more like elevator/dentist office music. The song was popular when my Mom was a teenager and she said that it was way, way overplayed.

I like the theme from A Summer Place. Number one on the Hot 100 the day I was born was "Kiss And Say Goodbye" by the Manhattans. Good thing I got out when I did because if I'd waited one more day, it would have been "Don't Go Breaking My heart" by Elton John which I always thought was a pretty lame song. And what's wrong with Bobby Goldsboro? I didn't know he ever hit #1 though, the only song I know of his is "Watching Scotty Grow" which me and my son like to sing along to.

I got "Knock Three Times" by Dawn, which thankfully is a song I like. Going by AT40 (which was a week ahead at that time), "One Bad Apple" was #1 on the first show after my birth. And I never even heard that song in full until about four years ago.

Nothing wrong with Goldsboro per se- I can remember watching his variety show when I was a kid (and Bobby Vinton's for that matter). It's just that that song stinks and there was a lot cooler stuff on the charts in 1968.

#1 on the day I was born was "Delta Dawn" by Helen Reddy. I have never heard this song, nor do I have any desire to. ;D

Mine is "Joy to the world" by "Three Dog Nights"... which later became #1 song of 1971... Wonder if the title of the song has anything to do with me...
