I may be able to help fill in a hole or two. I've moved so many times over the years, I doubt that I kept my WT30 lists. I didn't keep track of the whole top 30, just the top ten. But I do distinctly remember these songs making it to #1 at some point:
"When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" (either 8/25/79 or 9/1/79) "I'll Never Love This Way Again" (10/20/79) "Babe" (12/1/79)
And I believe these songs may have reached the top spot as well:
"Sad Eyes" "Urgent" "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around"
Also, "Being with You", "Endless Love", and "Arthur's Theme" each might have had an additional week at #1.

I can confirm that Babe/Styx was #1 on 12/1/79 and 9/1/79 was My Sharona/The Knack. It looks like I'll Never Love This Way Again never went to #1...although I'm missing two weeks from its chart run (25-20-n/a-12-8-5-4-3-4-9-n/a-17-25-25), the missing weeks mean it couldn't have reached #1. Also, When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman peaked at #2 (16 15 6 5 2 3 7 7 n/a 18 24 off) Sad Eyes peaked at #2 for three weeks (29 14 8 n/a 3 2 2 2 8 16 17 n/a 25 29 My guess is that My Sharona held #1 for three weeks 8/18/79 - 9/1/79. I can't confirm 8/25/79 but if wasn't it means that it fell from #1 only to go back the falling week. Hopefully, I'll more to report soon.

I can help out with 2 Blank Spaces! 8/25/79 is My Sharona By the Knack. I Don't have that show but i have the 9/8/79 show and Mark Says "After Holding #1 for the past 3 weeks the Knack Falls to #3. the other show is 5/9/81 Being with you by Smokey was #1 for a second week. Also I Have the 7/5/80 special "All Time Top 30" countdown. with this show they included a copy of that week's computer print out of the top 30. The song that was #01 that week was "Still Rock and Roll to me" which would have made it #1 for 3 weeks in July. that's all i have for now. I Kept up with the show the first few months while trying to keep up with AT40 so if i find my old notebook soon i will see if i have anymore of the 1979 shows written down. also my Record collection only goes to the end of June 1981 Due to the station i worked for (later that year) Dropped WT30 For Dick Clark. But if i come across any of the other shows i will let Y'all Know.

Updated list of #1 songs just two to go to finish it 10-20-79 & 8-22-81. You can pretty much guess that Endless Love spent more than just one week at #1 so 8-22-81 is probably Endless Love.

99x was airing both the Weekly Top 30 and AT40 in 1980. Weekly Top 40 Debuted on 99x on April 26, 1980. the show started with him saying something like "And now ladies and gentlemen the weekly top 30."The intro song to the show was very catchy. Mark Elliott was popular back then subbing for Casey and doing various specials including "The Number One Radio Show" that played every number 1 song from 1964 to 1981. On the July 4th week the show did a countdown of the Top 30 of all time.

"WT30" aired every Saturday night from 6-9 PM on WICC600 in Bridgeport,CT-At the time,ICC was an AC leaning station-They're presently news/talk-However,they play music on the weekends, which is great-They have a popular program called "The Oh Wow Oldies Show" which airs from 6 PM Saturdays-6 AM Sundays.

The #1 song for 10-20-79 has been discovered and now updated on the list of #1 songs meaning there's just one more song to figure out the week of 8-22-81. Did "Endless Love" spend two weeks at #1 or was just one week? My gut tells me two weeks but until the cue sheets or a copy of the show appears; this is the last mystery #1 of the shows' run.

Okay, time to correct the #1 list. I recently found a copy of 12-1-79 and "Babe" by Styx did not go to #1 instead "No More Tears" spent a second week @ #1 that week. Babe's chart was 22-12-6-5-2-3-2-12-13-21-frozen week for YE show-22-22-26 and was the #25 song of 1979.

We can add one more to the list of #1 songs. There was no show for the week; however, on the slick it listed "We Are Family"/Sister Sledge as the #1 song for the week of 6/23/79. Based upon the slick, you know song rankings 1-20, 22-26, 29-31, 33, 35 for 6-23-79. What's incredible about this find is that it's the first and only time the slick showed ranking below the Top 30.
