surprised no one mentioned don't worry be happy. or new sensation,, both terrible songs.. "Don't Worry, Be Happy" might be my least favorite song ever. However, it didn't embarrass me as much as it annoyed me. When I heard it on the radio, I didn't cringe...I just wanted to run far, far away.

^They made fun of that song in "Transylvania 3."

surprised no one mentioned don't worry be happy. or new sensation,, both terrible songs.. New Sensation as in the INXS song? It's certainly not one of their best songs, but I'm surprised to see someone name it here. Why do you find it so terrible?

Just listening to the 6/25/88 show, and J.J. Fad's "Supersonic" has to fit the embarrassing bill. I recall that J.J. Fad were being hyped as the first big female rap act, but man that song was painful to listen to. Funny thing--the hype was somewhat misguided, as Salt'n'Pepa beat them to the punch with "Push It" hitting the top 40 almost 6 months earlier (and was a significantly better song than "Supersonic"). Tiffany's remake of "I Saw Him Standing There" has to get some consideration, or at least the video does. That's the one where she did that thing with her hands making a square around her face, a move she likely regrets to this day. Solid call on Tiffany's remake, particularly the video. I remember seeing it and thinking, "What the the hell is this framing the face thing??" As for Supersonic...I really liked the song when it was on the charts. I don't know that it's aged well, but it's still okay with me. I do wish that MTV Classic would stop playing the cheesy video every two hours, though.

How about "Ooh La La (I Can't Get Over You)," particularly the spoken word bridge where he suggests that singing the song on the radio will make her come back?

There’s some really embarrassingly bad falsetto in Jackson Browne’s “Stay.”

I think Tiffany was trying to be Janet Jackson in that video (see the video for "Pleasure Principle") - Janet seemed to be the first to try that same type of move with her hands, but she was able to pull it off and make it look cool. Tiffany...yeah, not so much.

There’s some really embarrassingly bad falsetto in Jackson Browne’s “Stay.” That falsetto is by a great musician, David Lindley. Don't think it's 'embarrassing' at all--fits the context of the song. Rosemary Butler is the female vocal on the song, so there are three people singing on it.

One other I was just reminded of...how about "Curly Shuffle" by Jump N the Saddle. I give novelty songs somewhat of a break, because they are exactly that--novelties, and shouldn't be compared to conventional pop/rock songs. But novelty songs should be funny, clever, and/or amusing in some way, and "Curly Shuffle" was none of these.

I watched the Three Stooges quite a lot growing up, so I totally understand all of Curly's catchphrases heard in the choruses. I always liked that song.

Just thought I'd drop in and say I'm not embarrassed to admit I like about all the songs mentioned on this page. especially "Love Is" I do have to admit I'm embarrassed to listen to "Big Love" by Fleetwood Mac in front of my kids.

The last minute of "Senorita" by Justin Timberlake when he's singing off key and doing falsetto to imitate the ladies he's singing about. It's so bad, I have to turn down the volume when that part comes on.

The Blues Brothers were an embarrassment, IMO. Way out of their element and taking themselves too seriously as professional singers. They seemed to me to symbolize the burned-out decadence of the end of that decade.
