One of the first stations I streamed, back around 2010. I streamed this station as well and then for some reason their stream didn't sound good so I stopped going to it. The one thing I remember about the station was that Charlie Tuna did the voiceovers on their liners. Charlie Tuna was born in Kearney, Ne and got his first gig in radio at the age of 16 on an AM station that still exists today in Kearney called KGFW. He was inducted into the Nebraska Broadcasters Association. Hall Of Fame back 1999. I am originally from that area so now it's like the 80's all over again where I can hear AT40 on two different affiliates in the same area. KUVR isn't quite the 100,000 watt flame thrower as KKPR is.. This is the reason why you have two affiliates carrying Classic AT40 in the South Central Nebraka area where I grew up in. Actually there are three if you count KQMA out of Phillipsburg, KS which is just south of the Nebraska/Kansas border. |
