Enjoying 1969 countdown so much! Joe, you stated that Tommy Roe had 5 Top 10's in the 60's. I show Sheila, Everybody, Sweet Pea, Hooray for Hazel, Dizzy and Jam Up and Jelly Tight. The last one barely squeaked in on 12-27-69.

Oops, I actually recorded the year end show before the 12/27/69 show--and thought Jam Up Jelly Tight made to the top 10 in 1970--but you were right it made it to #8 on the last chart of 1969. Not an excuse--just an explanation. By the way, there is a bigger error on the 1969 year end show--let's see if anyone, catches me on it.

I finished the show and didn't catch any errors, but I am sure some of the experts will. Did you agree that "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" should have been in the Top 100 of the 1969, but for some reason was omitted? If it had been an early or late year entry, and not had all its points calculated, I could see it, but all its week were covered in 1969.

I featured the Jackie DeShannon song as a bonus--as it did reach the Top 10 as you indicated but didn't place on the year end chart (I am not sure exactly where it would have placed). As far as the error is concerned , let's see if someone else catches it before I let the cat out of the bag. Happy New Year-- Joe

Joe, I enjoyed your countdown from December 27, 1969. A long time ago, I owned many of those 45s.
A great effort--thank you. And Happy New Year!

Listening to "A Boy Named Sue" right now. Think I found your error...unless San Quentin Prison relocated from California to Texas.

Not to hour 7 yet, but yes "This Girl Is A Woman Now" was played earlier. It was probably the error Joe was thinking of since it's music-related.

Good thing we don't have a cue sheet error thread for these shows like the thread in the AT40 Forum.

Yes, I moved the Johnny Cash song from a prison in California to Texas (probably was thinking of San Antonio not San Quentin). Thanks for pointing out the missteaks..er, mistakes--I will try to getting around to correcting them and re-post the show with no errors.

Okay, loyal listeners--the fix is in (place). Hours 5 and 7 contained some errors of the Top 100 of 1969--and they have been fixed. You get a new bonus song (Top 10 from the year that didn't make the year end chart) and a correction on #34 and #6. To those that have already listened to the countdown just listen to those two new hours.
Thanks--
Joe

Adds to the charm of the show. Besides, "This Girl Is A Woman Now" is my favorite Puckett song. Only mentioned the mistakes because you threw down the gauntlet! Thanks for all the enjoyable shows.

I'm shocked that Mitch Miller and the Gang at Columbia would resort to payola. Next you'll be telling us that you did shows from two consecutive weeks in July 1968 just so Mrs. Robinson could be played an extra time!

I actually ran across the story of how the Stones wrote Jumpin' Jack Flash and thought it would be interesting to share the inspiration behind the song--so I did a whole countdown just for that reason.

If there would have been only one error I would have let it go--but to play the same song twice was too much--so I thought I would correct all the errors; and thanks to all of you for listening.
