I wonder why they aren't having the Top 40 & Top Newcomers Of The 80's shows on the My 80's channels. Not to mention the 60's or 70's could've had the Top 40 hits of the Beatles solo & together.

Listening to the 1973 Disappearing Acts special on the My 50s channel. Reportedly this was Casey's favourite special, so catch it if you can. (Is the second 7/1 in the list above supposed to be 7/5?)
The 1975 version is also well worth hearing, though it covers most of the same acts.

At the time of both disappearing acts specials, Janis Ian was working on a song or an album. In 1973, she was writing Roberta Flack's next single as Casey said and that would indeed make it onto AT40 in the fall, "Jesse". In 1975, she was working on her own album that would yield her biggest hit, "At Seventeen". All it took was the fact that she was working on that album to disqualify her from the second disappearing acts special.

listening to the top 100 of 1977 at the moment and the whole of the 4th hour of part one is missing ,After lonely boy by andrew gold at#62 it skipped to hour 1 of the second part (Alice cooper at #50 ) It might affect the timings of the other shows (still one good thing - i avoided hearing debby boone's you light up my life ) they missed a good secton of the second part too

Actually that LP had been released in March of '75, although the single wouldn't really hit until summer.

I was summarizing what Casey said so maybe it was not clear as a result. Here is what he said on the 7/19/75 show.
"We now have a song by the first disappearing act to reappear on the chart" was the tease. Then he later said....
"When we did our first disappearing acts special, one of those songs was by a 16 year old girl from Bayonne, New Jersay. The song was 'Society's Child' by Janis Ian. After that, she released a couple albums that went nowhere and then she just disappeared. A couple months ago when we did our updated version of the special, we had to eliminate her from the show. And the reason? She had just cut an album that was beginning to attract attention and we had a feeling she might be just on her way to making a comeback. And that's just what she has done".

We are at the bottom of the 70's list so they may be adding shows again starting at around 5:30-5:45 pm today

I suppose they think that all the special programming over the 4th was over and above enough. I can also pretty much verify that they played every show on the 70's list in the last cycle, so there are no shows that need to be deleted.

Anyone out there have access to AT&T U-Verse? They've just added an IHeartRadio app to their service that is free to anyone with both an IHeart account and a U-Verse account. The Classic AT40 channel is available through this service. Just type "Classic American Top 40" in the Search section and the station will come up. I just added the app yesterday and just finished listening to the 2/5/1977 show. Sound quality is good, if not great.

Anyone know if they've started posting a schedule of shows at all for this station, or is it still tune in and see what's playing?
