From 2015, here is the song that kicked off the guest artist portion of the Boston Pops 4th of July special on CBS last night. A summer song that hit #1 on the dance club play chart late last summer becoming the 4th #1 on that chart for Demi Lovato. "Cool for the Summer" along with her other dance club #1 hits are making Demi the Madonna of this decade. And as I have for the last 3 decades or so on the 4th of July, I got to see my sister on TV. She is a violinist for the Boston Pops. BTW, the fireworks at the end of the video are an appetizer for the fireworks that occurred at the end of that special last night. www.youtube.com/watch?v=il9nqWw9W3Y

^^ jlthorpe... a most excellent pick this week! That song reached #10 on the Adult Top 40 chart twelve years ago. How that song never hit the Hot 100 (or the Top 40... or the Top 10), I will never know but you found a great one.
One of my students at the first high school where I worked had Sheryl Crow as his first grade music teacher! I have always been a big fan of Sheryl's music. I used "Light In Your Eyes" in a talk I gave at a high school religious retreat.
Sheryl was also featured just a couple of weeks ago as a panelist on the new version of "Match Game" on ABC.
Thanks again for an awesome selection!

^Good but not great. Great like my fave 1989 song that missed the top 40..."Fire Woman". "She's coming closer, I can feel her...."

I was going by the Mediabase pop chart, and I thought the song was popular enough to make it on there, but it didn't.

Unfortunately I don't have archived Mediabase pop charts.
