Here's a song that's hard to find on YouTube or other video sites, and the video below was just posted last month, so it may not be online for very long. Reaching a peak of #21 on the Adult Contemporary chart in March 2001, here's Don Henley with "Everything Is Different Now".

From this point on, I will no longer be posting every song in this thread from the current week in a particular year. Lately it has been getting too difficult to find songs from the exact same time period without going through multiple years and multiple charts to do so. While I might still do occasional songs from the same time period, it will be on a case-by-case basis, and otherwise I will be posting random favorites and songs I am also otherwise familiar with. This week, I'll be starting with one of the first songs I heard when I got into EDM back in the summer of 2012. Released as a single that year according to Wikipedia, here's "Flexx" by Wolfgang Gartner.
EDIT: From what I've seen online, this was released as a single in the U.S. in June 2012.

Today's song was originally released as an instrumental in May 2010 by Tiƫsto vs. Diplo (as "C'mon"), and in January 2011 as a version featuring vocals by Busta Rhymes (as "C'mon (Catch 'Em by Surprise)"). The latter version reached #19 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart in March of that year.

Originally posted in this thread in 2018, Band of Horses' "The Funeral" was released as a single in May 2006, but did not chart in Billboard at the time (it made a couple of digital song sales charts in October 2012). The video for the song shows a man turning to alcohol over the loss of his dog, so hopefully it won't be played after an uptempo g o d d a m n number.

It wouldn't debut on the Bubbling Under chart until September 2002, and then it only peaked at #122, but in June of that year "Get Free" by Australian rock band The Vines was already on the Modern Rock chart. At #32 on today's chart date, the song eventually reached #7.

In its second week on Billboard's Modern Rock chart for the week ending July 7, 2001 and already up to #13, Cake's "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" would eventually reach #7, as well as #119 on the Bubbling Under chart. Also posting the song on its own without all the commentary from the official video.
