Today's song comes from 2000 and was at #83 on the Hot 100 this week, having peaked at #58 in August. Here's "Taking You Home" by Don Henley (once again, I had to use Vimeo as not only is this video not available on YouTube, but neither is the song itself).

Today's song comes from 2018, and this week it spent its only week on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart at #39. Here's "Heartbreak Back" by Frank Walker featuring Riley Biederer.

Today's song comes from 2004 and was originally a #6 hit on the Hot 100 for Cameo in 1986. This version spent its only week on the Bubbling Under chart this week at #123. It also peaked at #16 on the Mainstream Rock chart and at #17 on the Modern Rock chart this same month. Here's "Word Up" by Korn.

Here's "Taking You Home" by Don Henley (once again, I had to use Vimeo as not only is this video not available on YouTube, but neither is the song itself). This may not have been a big pop hit, but it was one of the biggest hits of the decade at AC, spending four weeks at #1 (on the R&R chart), which was average, but its weeks in the Top Ten (39) and on the chart overall (75, I think) were anything but average! The recurrent rule at the time (three declining weeks below #15), however, was largely instrumental in the song's tenacity on the chart. Had it not been for that, the song would not have spent anywhere near that long on the chart. Given how immense its success was was on the AC chart, I'm surprised it didn't make some kind of appearance on the Mainstream CHR Top 50 chart, but, to my best of knowledge, it wasn't even released at CHR.

Those facts about the Korn and Henley songs are really interesting. Neither song appears on the R&R chart website. So Dees must have been using his own chart (which I've heard he does) in 2004 like AT40 did. And as for Henley, I noticed a similar oddity with "Put Your Records On", which also didn't make R&R/Mediabase's pop chart. Although the song got a decent amount of airplay at the time, it must have been limited to AC or Hot AC stations.

A bit of a coincidence this weekend, as 80sat40fan and I have both chosen Elton John songs for each of our respective threads. On this week last year, this song was at #13 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart, having peaked one notch higher at #12 two weeks earlier. From the biopic "Rocketman", here's Elton John and Taron Egerton with "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again".

Today's song comes from 2002, and was the second single released from the album "The Rising", following the title track (which was posted in this thread back in 2016). This week, it was at #5 on Billboard's Adult Alternative chart, eventually peaking at #3 three weeks later. Here's "Lonesome Day" by Bruce Springsteen (since the version in the music video was recorded live, I also included the album version).

Today's song comes from 2016, and this week it was at #12 on Billboard's Alternative chart and climbing. It would reach #1 on the chart the following January, and have a go at the pop charts in August, where it would peak at #119 on the Bubbling Under chart and at #49 on the Mediabase pop chart. Here's "Take It All Back" by Judah and the Lion.

Today's song comes from 2008 and was famously sampled by Pitbull for his song "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)", and itself sampled "Street Player" by Chicago. This week, it was at #24 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. Here's Nicola Fasano Vs. Pat-Rich with "75, Brazil Street".

It would reach #1 on the chart two weeks later, becoming the second and, so far, last #1 on the chart for this British act, following their earlier hit "Bulletproof". Today's song was a 2015 hit for an American R&B/rock band, which was at #2 this week on Billboard's Adult Alternative chart after having spent four weeks at #1. It also peaked at #103 on the Bubbling Under chart the following January. The song has been used in various media, including in commercials for Movember, which have been airing throughout this month to raise awareness for men's health issues. Here's "S.O.B." by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats.
