For April Fools' Day, I'm posting a song that was released on April 1, 2003 and would peak at #58 on the Hot 100 two weeks later. It would later be ranked at #30 on VH1's "50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs... Ever" list. Here's "Pimp Juice" by Nelly. WARNING: Lyrics probably not safe for work (or working from home).

From this week last year, it's a song that was at #97 on the Hot 100, and previously peaked at #79 in January. The song also peaked at #50 on Mediabase in March. Here's "Let Me Down Slowly" by Alec Benjamin featuring Alessia Cara (also included is Benjamin's solo version). I know many people seemed to dislike this, but I was greatly disappointed that it didn't become a hit.

From this week in 2014, it's a song from the movie "Frozen" which, according to Deadpool, sounds like the Barbra Streisand song "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" from "Yentl". This week, it was at its peak position of #51 on the Hot 100. Here's "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" by Kristen Bell, Agatha Lee Monn, and Katie Lopez (included are the film and soundtrack versions).

Happy New Year! To start off the new year (and the new decade) on a high note, here's a song from this week in 2007 that was #2 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, after peaking at #1 two months earlier in November. The song also reached #105 on the Bubbling Under chart that same month. Here's "Jump" by Madonna. This is one of my favorite all time Madonna songs, along with another hit from that same album "Get Together". Madge doing one of the things she's always done best, and that was changing with the times and staying ahead of the curve. Really what turned out to be the end of her commercial success, though she will probably tour until she's 75.

jlthorpe ... good pick ^^ ! Count me as a fan of the studio version... I enjoyed the grittier sounding choruses more on the studio version. I have no idea why I hate it when Fred Durst sang, "I'm feeling those lighters". It's an innocent comment made during a concert but whenever I heard that line on the radio, I always cringed... and I don't know why!
