OK, I'll take a crack at it; I say the two despised songs are "Baby Love" by Regina, and "Dancing On The Ceiling" by Lionel Richie. We have a winner! Congrats, slf ! You get your choice of prizes from the AT40 prize closet courtesy the advertisers from the 8/2/86 show: a Baby Ruth candy bar, Sure anti-perspirant, or a six-pack of Hawaiian Punch. With Pontiac listed on the original cue sheet as an advertiser, you were probably hoping for a new car ... Thank you, 80sat40fan! I'm kinda surprised that I actually got both right on the first guess. Being that summer has been bearing down hard in central Indiana, I can use the free anti-perspirant. And being that these days, there is no such thing as a NEW Pontiac, that's no loss. However, is there any way I can swap the Hawaiian Punch for a six pack of Zeltzer Seltzer?

And I´m particularly happy that some of these artists like Falco and Supermax have even become superstars and have made world careers." Also from the Vienna Cloud One Studio comes this Eurodance production from 1984: Airbus with "I Follow You"

Gong in the wayback machine for my 8/6/83 list of songs... back when I just picked favorites and didn't give star ratings or named absolute faves: My Top 30 songs from the 8/6/83 countdown: * I love the entire Top 22: "Every Breath You Take", "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)". "She Works Hard For The Money", "Is There Something I Should Know", "Flashdance... What A Feeling", "Electric Avenue", "Maniac", "Never Gonna Let You Go", "Stand Back", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'", "It's A Mistake", "Our House", "(Keep Feeling) Fascination"*, "Hot Girls In Love", "Cuts Like A Knife", "Come Dancing", "1999", "China Girl", "Rock Of Ages", "I'll Tumble 4 Ya", "Saved By Zero", and "Puttin' On The Ritz" * I also love: "Lawyers In Love", "Baby Jane", "Tell Her About It", "Human Touch", "The Safety Dance", "The Border", "Too Shy" and "Dead Giveaway" In 2020, I'd make this list a Top 32... All of the above remain favorites but I would also add "Human Nature" and "Don't Cry". * This week's 80s Pick Hit goes to The Human League. Love the synths, the bass line and the harmonies. The repetitive feel in the chorus works very well. Here's the extended version: My Top 28 songs from the 8/6/77 countdown:Top 10: I Just Want To Be Your Everything, I'm In You, Best Of My Love, My Heart Belongs To Me, Da Doo Ron Ron, (Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher & Higher, Easy, Whatcha Gonna Do, You 'n' Me#11-20: You Made Me Believe In Magic, Looks Like We Made It, Just A Song Before I Go, Undercover Angel, Margaritaville, Don't Stop, Handy Man, Barracuda, Knowing Me Knowing You #21-30: Give A Little Bit, Telephone Line, Smoke From A Distant Fire, Black Betty, Swayin' To The Music (Slow Dancin') #31-40: Strawberry Letter 23, Christine Sixteen, Slide, Jet Airliner, Livin' In The Life** The Isley Brothers get my 70s Pick Hit for the second week in a row... and with a song that spent its only week in the Top 40. This is one funky tune! I failed out of both the Carlton Banks Dance Academy and The Elaine Benes School of Dance... and even I would look halfway decent dancing to this tune! Here's the 12" disco mix:

Since school is around the corner, that means educator 80sat40fan (oooh, alliteration ) is getting his evil red pen ready for another school year. To break in that red pen, let's grade this week's 80s show participants rather than use the star ratings. If you like this... great! If not... we'll pretend this episode was like introducing the Kelly's Kids on that one episode of The Brady Bunch . Here are my grades for the Top 40 songs for the week ending 8/22/87 (my star ratings for these songs were posted three years ago):A+: Luka A: I Want Your Sex, When Smokey Sings, Alone, The Pleasure Principle, Lost In Emotion A-: La Bamba, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Only In My Dreams, Back In The High Life, Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, Lies B+: Don't Mean Nothing, Rock Steady, Didn't We Almost Have It All, Shakedown, I Heard A Rumour, One Heartbeat B: Can't We Try, Love Power, Cross My Broken Heart, Doing It All For My Baby, Here I Go Again, Seven Wonders, Mary's Prayer B-: Wipeout, Touch Of Grey, I Need Love, Since You've Been Gone, Jam Tonight, Wot's In To Ya C+: Living In A Box, Who Found Who, Jump Start C: I Just Can't Stop Loving You C-: Who's That Girl, It's Not Over ('Til It's Over) D+: Give To Live D: noneD-: Heart & Soul F: Carrie Since Suzanne Vega gets the only A+ from this week's show, she is this week's 80s Pick Hit by default.
