Next week, FINALLY 1962. Most likely the survey date will be 9-1-62. #1 that week was "Sheila" by Tommy Roe. Should be a much shorter show next Saturday, as most songs were under 3 minutes long.

Actually, it's September 8, 1962, which also had "Sheila" on top (though the SXM display still says August 1962). I'm not sure why the 60s channel often chooses charts that are two weeks ahead of the actual airdate, as the five other Decades channels which do countdowns usually keep it within one week, whether ahead or behind this year's calendar.

Just some songs that were huge in the summer weren't in the Top 50: "Tossin' and Turnin'", It's Now Or Never", Honky Tonk Women", People Gotta Be Free" "Shadow Dancing, and usually a song, though didn't make #1--"Under the Boardwalk." One more interesting fact: The top 60 Summer Countdown, just a month ago, "California Girls" was #1, and on this countdown #29. Wondering why the big change?
