Likely date for 1964's show should be 8-1-64. #1 was the Beatles "A Hard Day's Night." Lots of British hits as well from the likes of the Beatles, Dusty Springfield, Rolling Stones, Dave Clark Five and Gerry and the Pacemakers to name a few.

Listening to 7/22/67 right now-"Pleasant Valley Sunday" by The Monkees was that week's highest debuting song on the Billboard Hot 100-The B side was "Words"-I wish Dave had made that the fabulous flip side of the week.

Short show that ended at 4:12 EST. Next week is 1961, and likely date is 7-31-61, since the dates used were Mondays. Number 1 was "Tossin' and Turnin' by Bobby Lewis. The record was the #1 song of 1961. It will be another very short show.
I am surprised that Dave didn't played 1962, which hasn't been played since 4-1-23.

According to Joel Whitburn, the chart date for the very early '60s must be the issue date and not week ending date.
So for the last show the day should be July 30,1961 and not August 06.
I'd like to know your feelings about it, a bit confusing situation until the two dates coincide.

It seems that the week ending date was supposed to indicate the date for the next issue--example: January 9, 1961 (week ending date January 16, 1961). Maybe that was for the magazine distributors to know when to pull the magazine to make room for the new issue. Of course, the chart data was really almost two weeks old when the week ending date came around.
As you suggest, confusing--but that all came to an end when the two dates matched in 1962.

Speaking of 1962,I'm thinking that will be the featured year the weekend of 8/12 & 8/13.

1962 being overlooked is as bad as 1974 being overlooked on Sirius XM 70's on 7.

I'd like to know your feelings about it, a bit confusing situation until the two dates coincide. I listened to the show this morning and it matches the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 07/31/1961, as per Joel Whitburn's book. That is what I am using as the official date, not the week ending date of August 6th.

Longer show today ending at 5:05 pm, which featured the Top 60 Summer Song as voted by listeners. I don't know where this was advertised, but I wish Dave would mention it before the deadline for voting ends. Next week is 1963, and yes, 1962 is once again ignored! Some years have played twice since 1962 was featured, but anyway, I will still listen. Number 1 for that week, which I predict will be 8-17-63, when "Fingertips Part 2" was #1.
