I loved the Satellite Survey today...always love the early 60s countdowns.
(I wish the 50s channel would do a countdown show, as these would fit well there!)
There was some good early Motown in this countdown (like Jackie Wilson and Barrett Strong), the Silver Fox - Charlie Rich before he went country, Bobby Rydell before Bye Bye Birdie, and Neil Sedaka with the non-Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven (much better than that Neil/Dara duet that's in this week's 1980 countdown!)
I also always loved to hear The Browns – The Old Lamplighter, seems nostalgic!

Show ended about 4:15. Next week is 1961, and date should be 5-22-61. I don't think the charts were "for the week ending" back in 1961. Did that start when the day switched to Saturday in early 1962?

The songs from Mary Poppins written by Richard and Robert Sherman. They also wrote the song You're Sixteen. Girl On The Billboard is a great truck drivin' country song.

I remember seeing "Mary Poppins" when I was six-I loved the soundtrack album-Julie Andrews had a great singing voice.
