Here's a reminder that this week's show is an encore presentation of the 100 biggest instrumentals of the 60's-The host will be Lou Simon.

Here's a reminder that this week's show is an encore presentation of the 100 biggest instrumentals of the 60's-The host will be Lou Simon. How cool will it be to hear Lou doing the Survey? I know it's not a new show, but it'll be comfort radio.

Is it the same show from 2016? That was not limited to just 60's, as there are instrumentals from 1955 to 1974, as Lou Simon defined the "transistor years."

Many thanks to mitchm for his great typing skills as this is the Countdown currently on, and estimated to be 6 hours from the Sirius 6 on 6 Schedule. The 100 Instrumental Listing can be found on Page 29 of this thread for anyone interested in following along. Repeats Sunday at 10 am and Wednesday at 10 pm. I liked it better when the show on Wednesdays was at 9 pm, but it is what it is!

Heat Wave is one of my alltime favorites which will be featured for 1963's episode.

Mrjukebox and I were correct in our guesses for the countdown which was 9-28-63. Songs 2 thru 6 were all female groups--Blue Velvet kept the females out of the top spot. Next week hopefully Mrjukebox and I will agree with 10-3-64?, as 1964 will be the feature year. Dave's ending was so funny--he talked about how folks in New Jersey love their tolls, and if you come to have a beer with him, he is going to have a toll booth in his driveway and charge $3.50. We need more humor in our lives IMO.

I live in Southwestern Connecticut specifically in the town of Fairfield-I'm roughly an hour from New Jersey-I can attest to the fact that there are toll plazas as far as the eye can see on the NJ Turnpike.

Great top 5 for this week. In order for me to arrive in CT I have to tackle the GS pkwy tolls every 15 to 20 minutes and there is a person standing in the roadway collecting tolls at the Dingmans Choice Bridge at the NJ - Penn line, yes in the middle of the roadway.
