Hey Vince,
Question for you to see where I went wrong. I tried tabulating points for Tie A Yellow Ribbon as I love numbers and wanted to see if I got what you did and randomly picked this song.
You came up with 2146 and I came up with 2149. In my chicken scratch I had the song getting 3 points on the 7-21-73 chart at #98, which appears to be difference, but I'm not sure if this was to be added in or if I messed up elsewhere.

Purplerush,
This is the chart run for "Tie A Yellow Ribbon..." if you want to see if it matches what you have.
80-68-56-48-29-19-13-6-3-1-1-1-1-2-4-5-7-10-18-25-28-54-98
I did count the last week at #98. I rechecked it and I still got 2146, including #1 bonus points.

Thanks for the reply, Vince. Tremendous job in doing those year end lists with the points. Very impressive.
As for my question, I added in the final 3 points from the last week on the survey twice. Thanks again for the info. I appreciate it.

Bumping at this time of year... Although Premiere is featuring two year-end shows where the rankings were tabulated by AT40, it's fun to look (again) at those years where they officially went with Billboard, but vince gives us a good look at how the top 100 would look if AT40 computed the rankings (and correcting errors, which 1975 has a great example). Don't forget to check out Vince's latest thread in the "General Music Discussion" folder, with rankings based on the calendar year (which isn't possible if producing a year-end show to be ready by the end of the year). Thank you, Vince!

This year, Ryan's CHR and Hot AC were slightly different than the published Mediabase charts. One song on CHR and two songs on Hot AC that were played by AT40 but not on the published charts.
Most important, the #1 songs were the same.

Post 1973, Dr. Hook consistently outperformed their peak chart postion in the year end surveys. A sign, I think, of songs that have broad and lasting appeal. I wonder if any 70s act surpassed them in this respect. Rest in peace, Ray Sawyer

Time to bump this up. Premiere is featuring 1984 YE show this year which was ranked by AT40. Page 3 of this thread has 1984 if you are interested in how it was ranked. Billboard ranked both 1971 and 1974. I will bump up the thread on BB's ranking in the General Music Discussion.

Bumping this up. AT40 did their own ranking on the 1972 B show and the 1981 A show. 1979 and 1987 were ranked by BB. I will also bump up my analysis of BB's YE rankings in the General Music Discussion. If you want to see a comprehensive ranking without cut offs, Pete's Dec 26, 2018 post has the link, about four posts back on this thread.

You're both right. AT40 did their own ranking for both 1972 and 1973. I just meant that the '73 show aired this year as the 'B', not '72.
