Mike-
Thanks again for the great effort WODC goes through to get these shows aired. While I admit to dozing off around 11:15 and missing most of the last hour, and waking up at 3:30am with my iPad still on and your station still playing in my earbuds- I love the passion and enthusiasm you have for AT40, the music, and radio. If these stations were still live and local with large airstaffs, I know you would be a fantastic person to have as a co worker. Enjoy the biz, I miss it!

Brett! Thank you for your heartfelt post here. This feels great. With the sadness of Casey's passing and the surrounding stories, the pain of it has been lessened by these great tribute shows and the freedom my bosses gave me to air as I saw fit these past few weeks. I'd love working with someone as enthusiastic as yourself, too! I'm sure some nice "B" extras will come our way and I will write to Premiere to see if they can make some extra shows available for air in the same way they did the tribute packet. I think we have certainly now established Sunday nights as a great fit for the show in addition to Sunday mornings. Thank you again Brett. A great way to end this great weekend! Now on with the countdown (of sheep).

Now that you guys have expanded the playlist a bit, any chance of adding the 80s show Sunday nights with B shows and special shows becoming Saturday night specials?

Besides WODC (thanks Mike) and The Walrus, did any other stations play Part 2? It was a very busy holiday weekend for me and I was depending on WBBG to play part 2 and I don't believe they did. Their website hasn't changed since they broadcast the tribute show. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I believe they played it from 4pm-8pm central time.

I've been hinting to the powers-that-be about adding the 80s show, since the 1980 countdown (Part 2 of the 100 list) went over very well. I'll keep you posted! Our playlist is vast enough to accommodate both 70s and 80s. Just played "Roll With It" from 1988, so hey.

Hopefully you guys would be able to continue playing both the A and B shows during 2-show weekends in addition to airing the 80s show...

Back after being away for a week and kudos to Ken for playing versions of songs to their cold endings that were never heard during these songs chart run on AT40. 2 examples....maybe the only 2..are "Mama Told Me Not to Come" and "Killing Me Softly".
If anyone is wondering where the intro to "Will it go Round in Circles" came from.....it's this week's 70s show. So we'll all get a chance to hear it again.

With part 3 over Labor Day weekend, where does 4, 5 and 6 go? Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's weekend? Not sure when they'll place the fourth one, but I'm thinking that, in place of a year-ender, they'll play Part 5 on the weekend of December 27-28 and Part 6 on January 3-4. I would doubt that they'd play Part 4 on Thanksgiving weekend, since many stations will be in Christmas mode that weekend. As much as I'm enjoying these Casey Kasem #1 Hits of the 70's AT40 special countdowns edited by Ken Martin, I really hope that Premiere does not do this because The Top 80 of 1972, my birth year, is the only year-ender yet to be rebroadcast in one form or another!

Hopefully Parts 4, 5 & 6 will be put into a special "folder" similar to the Tribute shows so the All-Christmas stations can hit them right after December 25. Since Christmas is on a Thursday and most employers/businesses will have the 26th as a holiday I would love to do the following...if I still have my way at that time: Part 4 Friday 12/26 8AM to 12NOON; Part 5 Saturday 12/27 8PM to 12MID and Part 6 Sunday 12/28 8PM-12MID. That way the week's regular Sunday 9A-12NOON (or maybe 8A-12NOON) offering wouldn't be sacrificed.

I highly doubt that's going to happen.

If an alternative to work around the T-Giving and Christmas isn't offered, stations that desire to air it won't have the opportunity. Of course, that won't stop any of us from hearing it on iHeartRadio or other streaming stations. But still, those great specials deserve as much over-the-air love as possible.

I was just wondering. Did Casey Kasem announce the #1 songs Of the late 80s on his TV show "American top 10" and do you have the rights to that show. I read on another article that the late 80s was going to be difficult due to Kasem's departure on AT40.
I am a fan of th 70s and I am looking forward to listening to part 4 when it airs.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone (maybe Ken Martin?) know when parts 4 thru 6 will be made available for Premiere to air on terrestrial radio? Seems I haven't really heard anything about these specials since Thanksgiving.
