It must be the lighting. Other pictures taken at the time of the R&R site picture are very light as well. Her Wikipedia page has a recent picture of her and she's definitely black.

Here's one that goes the opposite way: I thought this group was white until I saw this video a couple weeks ago.

Another opposite: until I read this post a few minutes ago, I didn't know that Robert Cray was black; his first name probably threw me off since I never heard of a black man named Robert until now (and finding this man when searching for "black men named robert"). |

Been fooled for 40 years... Doing a little research for this week's September 9, 1978 show, I discovered that Alicia Bridges is white. "...and where are those pictures I was supposed to see?" Never got'em.  |

Even though Teena Marie and Lisa Stansfield hit the R&B charts besides the pop charts, they were both white.
What about pop/R&B singer Mariah Carey, is she white also?
