Last Casey´s show in 2004. OMG Get Low - Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz , that is what it is called a butching. when I heard the show on WWIS last week, they also chopped away Chingy's "Holiday Inn" and "Stand Up" by Ludacris. Although I missed it, they likely did the same to Murphy Lee's "What the Hook Gon' Be." Shows you how Premiere is trying to make Casey Kasem irrelevant to hip hop fans.

Most stations that would air this special show now most likely have little if any rap in their playlists. Thus Premiere had to make the show more palatable to those stations who wanted to carry it.

In recent days I've listened to the AT40 Top 40 Acts of the 70s So Far, Top 40 Disco Hits, Top 40 Beatles Hits, Top 40 Acts of the 1980s So Far, Giants of Rock and Roll, and Top 40 Hits of the 1980s so far. Right now I'm listening to the 20th Anniversary Special.

Left in, however, were the artificial and unnecessary repetitions of verses and choruses in some songs ("Harder to Breathe" and "Why Can't I" among them) that was unfortunately characteristic of AT40 in the 1990s and early 2000s. One thing that's actually improved during the Seacrest era is less or none of that.

Yet Premiere left hits by Trapt, Staind, Fuel & Linkin Park in the show intact. Seems a bit bias, don'tcha think?

I'm guessing the radio stations perceive hard rock as the lesser of 2 "evils" that will drive listeners away. Of course if they edited those songs down too, then perhaps they could've fit the entire show into 3 hours so that the entire top 40 is heard, even if the station only allotted 3 hours for AT40.

The reason probably has more to do with the despicable content and language rather than a bias. True, a lot of hard rock hits have bad words in them, but bleeping a word or 2 is easy. Most rap becomes an instrumental if bad language is removed. That or it sounds like it is skipping like hell!

Slowly listening to the top 100 of 1983, which includes a very poor edit of Men at Work's "Overkill" (I suspect it was an original edit since 100 songs needed to be squeezed into an 8 hour block).
