This week: CT40 from 2/1/1992 (currently listening), and then AT40 from 2/2/1980. Lots of "about-faces" in this show; songs that were moving up in the 1/25/1992 countdown, even by a few spots, start going backward in this one, some by several notches. Holding at the peak position wasn't as common around this time as it was in the early 1980s (different chart, I know, but even that was happening more often on Billboard post-Bill Wardlow).

The last show to feature the 1987 theme and 1984 jingles...AT40 from 2/4/1989. Phil Collins takes the biggest fall from #1 since 1974, dropping to #10 with "Two Hearts"...but, the staff was a little off in their research. Shadoe said Barry White's "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe" in September 1974, fell to #12 out of #1. Big drop, sure, but not the biggest. They failed to look just two months later, when that drop was exceeded...twice!!! And in back-to-back weeks, too...10/26 and 11/2. Two songs would stay at #1 for a week, then drop all the way to #15 the following week. So close, but yet so far...
ETA: Funny how the chart path of "Nothing From Nothing" and "Then Came You" were exactly the same after their departure from #1...#15, then #39, then off. (Their positions once they dropped off the 40 were different, but what are the odds of two consecutive #1 hits dropping to the same positions on their way out?)

AT20 HAC from 1/31/2004. Haven't heard many HAC shows from this timeframe, so this will be a fun listen.

Needed a 1975 fix this morning, so I'm in the final hour of AT40 from 2/1/1975.
Been doing countdown marathons since early 2018, when I started 1978. Last year, 1979 (and Casey's Top 40 from 1991). This year, AT40 1980 and CT40 1992. But later this year, gonna start at the debut show from 1970 and go to the end of 1977, in addition to 1980 and 1992.

Listening to 3-7-81 on the Classic AT40 Iheart Channel. Most of these songs provide good sleep aid.🥱

I think you know I was doing 4-5 shows a week, every week for the shows from 40, 30, 20, and 10 years ago. After 6 years, last year I completely ran out of steam and quit. Had become way too much and with the arrival of an additional 80s show again, I just couldn’t continue. Thanks...I don't think I'll get tired of listening to them, though I can certainly understand the burnout. You were on quite a roll there for a while, even before I joined this board four years ago. With me being closer to work now, I'm not spending as much time listening to shows, so I just keep it to a couple of years; otherwise I fall behind. Been amazed that the two Christian countdown shows we listen to have been posted online every weekend this year so far; there's several weeks missing from 2019.

Next weekend's 80s "B" show, 2/12/1983 (with original network commercials). Very enjoyable listen all throughout.

Given that so far this year, I've listened to Rick Dees shows from 8 out of 10 years of the 90's, I figured I'd listen to Casey from one of the other years. Well, here I am, listening to Casey's Top 40 from February 12, 1994. So many great songs on here that take me back to grade 6!
Among the stories on this show include one about the Beatles' rooftop concert from this time of year in 1969.

AT40 from 2/16/1985. Interesting update on George Harrison, early in the show. He was quoted as having no desire to be a pop star, or record any music. He just wanted to live life in peace. (I can certainly relate to that.) But we all know that wouldn't last; he got his mind set on a comeback late in 1987.
This would also be the last show with the 1984 bumpers. While some were retained through the 3/28/1987 show (prior to the 1987 theme package debut), some were phased out by the end of spring 1985, while new bumpers would debut in the 2/23/1985 show.

AT40 from February 13, 1999. Same week as, but representing the chart from the week following this week's 90's Rick Dees show.
In the intro to Shaggy's "Luv Me, Luv Me", Casey talked about how he got his name from a Scooby Doo character named Shaggy, who was voiced by... Casey himself of course. And he even did his "Zoinks!" from that show!

In advance of Leap Day, the only year since AT40 began to feature a show dated 2/29, the CT40 from 1992. I also heard this show after acquiring it in 2017, but I'm listening to the 1992 shows in order (the 28-year rule; calendars always match up), alternating with 1980. The 2/29/1992 show would also be the last show issued on vinyl (for CT40, as AT40 started on CD on 7/1/1989).

Listening to February 20, 1993 with Shadoe. "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men set the record for most weeks in the top 40 with 33 weeks.
