Thats one I have owned for a while and need to listen to someday.
Listening to T40C with Jeff Wyatt is intetesting for sure. Ive never listened to one of these last WW1 shows, can't believe they created new imaging for 2 shows.
Jeff Wyatt is very good though, he could have been a fine subhost for Casey

AT40 from May 30, 1998. Kicking it off with Celine Dion's "Titanic" former #1.

As far as my chronological listening of Shadoe Stevens AT40 shows has gone, I've gone through 8/28/1993. Included in said show is an interview with then-WPLJ DJ Scott Shannon who talked about how he managed to get Billy Joel's "The River Of Dreams" single released about a week earlier than planned ('PLJ played it first, then other New York stations wanted a copy and then it wasn't long before other stations wanted a copy).
Hearing about Scott Shannon was bittersweet for me. Before his first New York stint (Z100), he was at Q105 in Tampa. For the last decade or such, he was heard locally on what was True Oldies 106.3 WJQB. Monday, the station underwent a name change to "Hits 106" and switched out of Scott Shannon's TOC for "Good Time Oldies". Not only that, I discovered that Cumulus will be dropping the "True Oldies Channel" next month (likely related to Shannon leaving 'PLJ for CBS-FM in NYC earlier this year).

Perhaps they were going to use that generic name for awhile but when nearly every affiliate dropped them for AT40 there wasn't a point. I wonder if there was any station that given the choice agreed to stay with WW1 if they put a new show together and opted not to carry AT40.

But Cumulus is or WAS CBS Radio, wasn't it?

May 31, 1986. What a great show. I'm up to #32 now, "Your Wildest Dreams" by the Moody Blues. This might be pop perfection. I can't believe it didn't chart higher than #9.

As of the present time, WPLJ is owned by Cumulus en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WPLJAnd so is (or about to be was) the True Oldies Channel (Distributed by Cumulus Media Networks) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_True_Oldies_ChannelWCBS is owned by CBS Radio en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WCBS-FMI think this explains the Cumulus history with ABC and CBS en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westwood_One

I'm listening to June 5, 1976. Leading off for a second week at number 40 - where it PEAKED - is Paul Simon's "Still Crazy After All These Years". How could it only reach number 40? I don't get it. What a great song. Meanwhile, "Kiss and Say Goodbye" by the Manhattans is climbing the chart on its way to the top spot.
Go figure.

AT20 from 4/10/04. One of only a very small handful of AT20's from 2004-2009 I still haven't heard. During the original run, my affiliate at the time reaired 4/2/04 that week.

I'm up to number four on the June 4, 1983 countdown. Casey tells a story about Boy George helping to bring a girl out of a coma before playing "Time" by the Culture Club.

I'm into the second hour of the June 4, 1988 show. As Casey just noted when introducing the #29 song, "Beds are Burning" by Midnight Oil, there are a record four Australian groups in this survey, and all four are stacked together. At 31 is "Under the Milky Way" by The Church, INXS' "New Sensation" (one of my personal favorites from '88) is at 30, and 28 is occupied by the Icehouse top 10 hit "Electric Blue".
I love all four songs, and it's great to hear them all in a row like this. Thanks again, Premiere, and all of the affiliates for allowing us to relive these classic shows and hits.
