Samantha Sang got boosted by the Gibb Bros but also got stuck behind a BeeGees blockade which kept her Emotion from going to #1.

In late summer / early fall of 1989, Martika's remake of "I Feel the Earth Move" was looking top 15 bound, maybe top 10, when the Loma Prieta earthquake struck the San Francisco Bay Area. And that San Francisco Bay Area earthquake postponed the 1989 World Series for several days!

It looked like Joey Scarbury's red hot theme from Greatest American Hero was a sure fire chart topper. But Believe It Or Not this career tune by two legendary artists called Endless Love would leap frog to #2 all the way from fourteen.

Greatest American hero made it to the top of the chart in Cash Box, Record World and Radio & Records--so why not in Billboard?

Not a song (nor TV series) I really care much for either, but compared to 'Endless Dreck' it's a classic!

Not a song (nor TV series) I really care much for either, but compared to 'Endless Dreck' it's a classic! I didn't care for either song. It's a bummer when you get to the end of the countdown and the top 2 are a letdown.
