There's two songs that weren't the same as TV show titles, but did mention TV show titles: Prince's "Kiss" (You don't have to watch Dynasty to have an attitude) The Jets' "Rocket 2 U" (You're so upset because you can't watch All My Children, and..."

There's a couple of current NBC TV series with the same names as Top 40 hits:
Train - "Marry Me" Commodores - "Nightshift" (although the TV series is called "The Night Shift")
By the way, there was a previous post in this thread that mentioned Sly and the Family Stone's "Family Affair", but for some reason that post is missing.

hifi, I missed another big recent example, one that I used to joke to myself about: Ed Sheeran - "The A Team" There was also a song called 'The A Team' by SSGT Barry Sadler that reached #28 in 1966. It was a song that supposedly inspired the producers of the TV show to name the series The A Team.

That Girl - Maxi Priest w/Shaggy There's also Stevie Wonder's unrelated song of the same name. I was checking current shows and here's another example: Herb Alpert - "Rise" (NBC drama)

Two other songs like that: "Pressure" by Billy Joel ("All your life is Channel 13, Sesame Street...") "Lawyers In Love" by Jackson Browne ("Eating from TV trays, tuned into Happy Days") "One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies ("Watchin' X-Files with no lights on") There's also Michael Jackson saying "hee-haw" in "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'", though he's obviously not referring to the TV show of the same name.

"Days of Our Livez" by Bone Thugs-n-Harmony hit #20 on the Hot 100 in 1996. Before Rick Dees played it, he had a drop of MacDonald Carey doing his soap opera introduction, "Like sands through the hourglass..."

If "Cool" by the Jonas Brothers hits the Top 40, it mentions "Game of Thrones."
R. Kelly mentions "Murder, She Wrote" in "Ignition."

The current song by Blxst titled "Chosen" has the line, "she love me like Lucy," which I'm assuming is a reference to "I Love Lucy."
